“A touch of paradise”
Reviewed 9 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The cottage was lovely, spacious, and in an oh-so-wonderfully quiet setting. It came well equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed the wood burning stove on cool evenings, as well as the comfortable sofas in which to relax as we chatted, read, wrote letters, etc.

The fact there are no street lights or house lights around made for wonderfully dark nights, with the stars and moon easily visible.

Across the road, there's a wonderful wetland which felt like a bit of sacred space.

A word of advice: When you turn on to Londons Road, pay no attention to the sign that says "No Through Road". Equally, pay no attention to the fact the house numbers suddenly jump out of order as you round the first major corner. Continue, for about 1.6 km, and you'll find yourself suddenly at the right place. Turn in, drive up the driveway, park, walk in, and enjoy.

And if you want to have a bit of fun? Contact Grapemobile and arrange for Glen to pick you up in his van. He'll take you to his winery, outfit you with bicycles and a map, and you can cycle across the fields from winery to winery, sampling the wares and enjoying chats with the staff. Any wines you buy will be delivered to Grapemobile, and at the end of the day, Glen will return you and your wine to your residence. All good fun, safe, and very worthwhile.

“A peaceful bushland retreat”

A lovely little cottage in the middle of the bush, but still convenient to all of the Hunter Valley sights. We spent an enjoyable weekend here with friends as it ideal for couples. The kitchen is tiny so not really set up for cooking family meals, but fine for us as we mostly ate out.
