We recently stayed at this apartment from 28th Dec 14 for 1 week over new year. The apartment was reasonably priced compared with other accommodation available so we were a little apprehensive prior to booking. I am so pleased that we did. The communication with the owner was excellent, we were also sent over some useful information prior to travelling. We booked our flights with ryanair into Plovdiv, transfer with Resort Hoppa and accomodation with holiday lettings, it all worked fine and we saved a fortune compared with booking with an agent. The accommodation was immaculately clean and the facilities within the apartment were fine. The kitchen was adequately equipped with a fridge, oven, 2 hobs and was more than enough for what we needed. We tended to eat out as we were a group of 6 and it was so cheap to have a meal and drinks out. The 3 bedrooms were all of a reasonable size, 2 doubles and 1 with 2 single beds (and an additional pull out bed we didn’t use). The beds were extremely comfortable, in fact probably the most comfortable we have had abroad (and we are seasoned travellers!). The bathroom was fine, the shower was a little challenging at times as the door wasn’t great and the head tended to fall off until we had mastered how to use it....but certainly nothing to complain about, once we had figured the best way for it to work it was fine. With 6 adults we could have done with another bathroom, but this is certainly no criticism of the apartment. We also learned pretty quickly that there was not enough hot water for us all to have lengthy showers, but was more than enough to all have a quick shower. The apartment was situated on the 5th floor and there was no lift, but we went with the view that if we could ski all day our legs could get us up the stairs! I would imagine it would be difficult though with pushchairs or small children.
We booked ski packages with bulgariaski online, it was a taxi ride to the ski centre but was only 15 levs each way (so about 6 pound per trip), there was a shuttle bus for 3 levs each way per person but the taxi was more cost effective and convenient for us. We also did figure out a way that we could walk which we did a couple of times by getting a chair lift to the centre from the school and walking from the middle area (took about 10 minutes to walk).
The restaurant on site (the actual restaurant not the bar....I cannot remember the name but it began with an E) was excellent, the food and service was great and so reasonably priced. It cost us approximately £15 per head for drinks, starters, mains and desserts. A large beer was 250 Lev so around £1 in this restaurant! Another restaurant we used which was brilliant was Gloria Mar, it was in the centre so a 5-10 minute taxi ride, although if you ask reception to make you a reservation Gloria Mar will come and collect you and bring you back for free! There was a lobby bar that we used, but if you wanted a lively night out it this was again a short taxi ride away, although there were certainly no shortage of taxis (quite the opposite) so we did go out a couple of nights. We also had to pay an additional 70 Levs (£30 ish) cleaning fee at the end of the week that we didn’t know about when booking. Although we didn’t mind paying this as the apartment was immaculate when we arrived.
All in all, we had a great time, the skiing was great, the apartment was brilliant, the meals and drinks out were fab.....we definitely will return in the future, thank you for the pleasure of letting us rent your apartment.
