We stayed here for three nights, each of us having our own solo room. Beautiful, well-appointed rooms! I thoroughly enjoyed the amenities (in-room as well as use of bikes, onsen downstairs, laundry, etc.), the view, and our meals.
However, we had the longest check-in; the person who reserved is an elite member of the hotel chain so she was doubly annoyed when things should've gone smoothly but instead, there was some sort of issue with our reservation/request and it involved 2-3 different front-desk staff with no real manager with authority. It didn't help that the rep was clearly new (or not experienced enough) so we weren't sure why no one else there could get things resolved. Later in the evening, the general manager did get in touch with us and resolved the "issue" (there was none, but it was chalked up to a language barrier).
Shuttle service was nice if you don't have any plans to be somewhere at a certain time or if you wanted to use it only during their regular operation hours. Otherwise, be ready to pay for an expensive taxi to reach the train station. I'd advise the hotel to at least offer a sign-up option if guests need a ride outside of operation hours.More
