Stayed here as a part of a tour, so not sure about contact with front staff and transport. Most conspicuously, the rooms were saturated with the smell of cigarettes and was so poorly ventilated that it still stank of cigarettes after having the air con blasting the whole night. We stepped out in the morning only to be hit by the smell of cigarettes in the corridor. I can't remember the last time I've stayed in such a strong smelling hotel - I don't have asthma, but I wouldn't be surprised if I got an attack if I did. The furniture and toilet were well-worn, and the TV was small.
The view out the window was nice, though as people have mentioned before, the breakfast area was too small for a hotel of its size and the staff there brusque. We ate there at around 6:30am and by the time we were finishing up (before 7) there were no tables left. The selection was small but had enough western and Japanese staples to keep most people happy.
