We have stayed at highcliffe house for our last two holidays to SA. The accommodation is excellent with fantastic views of the entire bay. All the rooms are very tastefully laid out with everything needed for a great holiday. Also, the directions given, made the guest house very easy to find. We find Mr and Mrs Yeomans extremely helpful when trying to decide where to go and how to get there. They have so much local knowledge about the entire Cape, especially the Western Cape, it's like having your own tour guide on tap. We found it very useful, knowing the best places to visit without wasting valuable holiday time. If you like golf, there is apparantly an abudance of top quality golf courses locally , unfortunately we don't play. Also, the guest house is ideally situated close to Sir Lowrys pass which is regarded as the gateway to the Garden Route. We drove from Gordons Bay to Port Elizabeth and would highly recommend it. The scenery and stopping off places are an experience not to be missed. We especially like the idea of staying close to the winelands - another great experience with many of the wine estates open for tastings and include top quality restaurants with fantastic views and reasonable prices . Most of their wines are excellent and I would recommend a day or two visiting the estates in the Stellenbosch region. Cape Town and the best place to view whales in the Cape, Hermanus, are both only a 45 minute drive away. We will be staying at Highcliffe House for a third time later this year.
