This is the first time I've ever had to write a bad review however this pub is just horrible.
It used to be an absolute shambles - bad food, poor service, not a great drink selection.
Green king refurbished this pub a few months ago and the residents of boothstown had high hopes for it - how wrong we were.
The food is either cold or takes over an hour to arrive at your table - the order is then usually wrong so it then takes them approx another 30mins to get this right! Bare in mind that this isnt a freshly cooked meal - just reheated rubbish!
Kids meals delivered on plates that would burn anyones hands - no matter how hot you can handle a plate!
Even if you call at their quiet periods its still an absolute shambles.
The staff are either rude on inexperienced.
The location is stunning and this place could be an absolute goldmine but sadly green king have not picked up on this!
Theres the usual scallys who hang around smoking weed on the canal side on sunny days.
Theres so many reasons why you shouldn't visit this place that it would take an age to write.

Visited with my family, sat outside while the weather was lovely, really nice outside area with a brilliant view, very relaxing. We all enjoyed our food and was served by very welcoming and polite staff, in particular a lady called Zoey. Will be coming again soon.

Lovely setting for a meal by the canal. However, the service was shocking. The food took forever to come, the vegetables were over cooked and just awful, the kids meal was wrong and they didn’t bring out cutlery after saying they’d get some for us. It took over 10 minutes before we got cutlery by which time our food was cold. Then we asked for the kids pudding, it took about 25 minutes to come and we asked several times for it. When it finally came it was just jelly that had been tipped out of a plastic pot... 25 minutes to tip out a jelly and bring it out.

Never going back to eat there again.
