We stayed only one night in San Vito dei Normanni and we had no idea where to have dinner. Our host suggested us this restaurant and we were surprised by the menu which offers a great variety of typical Italian food, from pizza, pasta, fish and meat.

We went as a party of four in mid October, twice because it was so good. Lovely vaulted ceilings and friendly, helpful staff. Despite being big inside it was not too noisy and we were amused by how it filled up - we arrived at 7:30 on Saturday evening and our impression was that it was not very popular. But people (old, young, children, families, couples) kept on arriving until by 9:30 the place was rammed and the staff were running around! Very wide choice of food and generous portions, all our dishes (pasta, fish, meat, pizza) were very good. The house red wine was disappointing but the Duepalme Canonico (Negroamaro) was excellent and only a bit more expensive. Very good value for money, our second favourite restaurant in San Vito dei Normanni.

A regular visitor to this must go restaurant. Don't be put off by its unassuming exterior, a real tardis of a place especially when the outside area is open. Super friendly service from staff, they'll have a go at English if you have a go at Italian. The mussels (coze de vulcano) are my kids favourite. House red great too, served cold.

The restaurant looks very small from the front but is a Tardis inside with high vaulted ceilings and enough space for 160.
The menu is extensive with a great choice from local dishes to home made pizza cooked on a wood fired oven.
After much decision we decided upon mixed house starters to share between two, a pizza with mushrooms, mixed cheeses and bresaola and in a 'spec savers ' moment a horse steak and chips which I had read as 'House' steak.
The chips arrived first closely followed by the pizza which we questioned as we had not had the starters. The waitress was very officious and said the starter hadn't been written down so no starter eat your pizza! No apology. The horse steak arrived a good 5 minutes later.
The food was good but not great, the service bad with a very big attitude.
When we got the bill there at the top was written our starter!
A great shame as we have always experienced great service from restaurant staff, not this time!
