“A Hidden Gem”

We chose Villas Las Ventanas because it was off the beaten path but still had plenty of options for things to do. Rosa was our contact and at that, also a great coordinator for our trip. She helped by organizing a pick up from the airport to bring us down into Las Ventanas, answered many questions prior to our arrival as well as organizing car rentals and making sure we had some requested items in the fridge. This made for a stress free late arrival into Villas Las Ventanas. She was always available if we needed anything.
The condo’s were beautiful, clean and spacious. We had everything we needed for cooking meals or doing laundry. The grounds were also beautiful, lush and well maintained. We loved our morning coffee sitting out on the porch. The salt water pool at Las Ventanas was a great place to relax and spend a hot afternoon. This was one of our many favourite places on this trip.
The beach was a quick walk away and this was where we spent our mornings, beaching combing or watching the locals surf.
We wanted a relaxing holiday but also the ability to do things that would be close by. We were able to rent surf boards, golf on a spectacular course, spend an amazing day deep sea fishing and drove to the many, often deserted, beaches within a 20 minute drive. We had access to a grocery store and many great restaurants serving anything from traditional to burgers and pizza.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place to those who are travelling as a group, a family or even a couple. We will definitely be back!

“Perfect condos for month long vacation”

Las Ventanas condos are lovely, and perfect for us. Rooms are good size, clean and décor is lovely. Kitchen had everything we needed (we provided the wine and beer of course). Pool is saline and well maintained and a short 3 minutes walk to some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere. Loved spending time on the terrace. We were very comfortable and the staff was excellent to work with. Highly recommend!

We were fortunate to be able to stay at this quiet time of year , the resort was immaculate , beautifully manicured , the pool was spotless every day. The waves crashing in the background , the monkeys and budgies ,were our wake up call. Our condo had beautiful views from every window. The manager and house keeping were easily available should we need them, local store a few minutes away .Wonderful place ,wonderful accommodation.Paradise. An hour and a half from airport ,great roads, even better than ours at home. Everything and then some ,highly recommend a vacation here.

“An Amazing Place”

A trip of a lifetime with three high school girlfriends, after many years of dreaming of this holiday. We arrived in Liberia, and had made arrangements to be transported from the airport to Villas Las Ventanas. An interesting drive through the country, as we arrived around noon hour. After a pit stop to get some groceries, we arrived at our destination. It was so beautiful, and Rosa is a gem. She is so friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff were also friendly, and the grounds and pool area are kept in immaculate condition. The condo was excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen, and very comfortable living quarters. Rosa arranges for fresh fish delivery; put in your order on Thursday, and it is delivered on Friday. So delicious! On Monday, a bread truck stopped by as well. Groceries can be obtained nearby.
After settling in, we walked down to the beach, and it is so amazing. The beach is very quiet, and we watched surfers and local fishermen. A turtle reserve is along the beach, and one friend was lucky enough to see a turtle heading back to the ocean after laying her eggs on the beach. Our first evening, we were invited to a local restaurant to celebrate Rosa's birthday, along with other guests, so we felt totally welcome. We dined out several times in small restaurants that were just a short drive or walk from our place, and I was amazed by the food, so fresh and tasty, especially the seafood.
The sunsets on the beach were fantastic, and a special part of our daily ritual. Body surfing was a fun time.
There is lots to see in the area; we went on a river tour and explored other parts of the area as well. The pottery production at Guaitil is well worth the trip, as it is interesting to see this craft and learn the history of the potters. It is easy to arrange for transportation if you don't have a vehicle, and costs were very reasonable.
It is a place I will revisit for sure! It is a great place for families, and for anyone looking to relax for a while in a peaceful and beautiful spot.

“Easy place to travel alone and meet friendly Canadians”
Reviewed 12 February 2013 for a stay in February 2013

This is a beautiful, albeit remote, spot. It's about 5 minutes from a gorgeous beach and miles of coastline with few people. The condo property has everything one would need, along with the sweetest management (Rosa). If you like walking, you can venture down the beach or the gravel road to find local restaurants. If you're there for a few days, you can walk or hire transport. There for a few weeks and you'll want to rent a car. It's a 90-minute ride from the Liberia Airport, but a great place to recharge batteries. The beaches and the sunsets are breathtaking. You might see whales and turtles laying eggs, and you're guaranteed to see bioluminescent waters at night. Warm, warm water. Friendly tourists (mostly Canadian) and the sweetest ticos. I'd go back in a heartbeat. (Oh, and don't forget to buy from the fish truck on Fridays. Had fresh tuna steak that was incredibly thick and delicious and so inexpensive.
