“Nice”
Reviewed 26 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Overall nice experience. Our family of 6 adults (3 couples) and 1 infant couldn't ask for much more for the price. I definitely recommend buying some food and grilling it up the road on the beach. We felt like the locals! We didn't go to that beach much but highly recommend the one in front of the nearest cemetery.
We had trouble connecting to the internet but that was resolved with a quick phone call to maintenance (password listed was incorrect).

Positives:
Great kitchen and living room area for entertaining.
Decent location - close to a couple great restaurants, 7 mile beach, grocery store, etc (recommend renting a car though).
Bedrooms were a nice size.
Overall living space was great!

Negatives:
Not on the beach and the traffic was a little busy out in front of the house for my liking.
NO working blender. This is a must on a Caribbean vacation!
The 2 iguanas were sun bathing on the bushes above the patio, which they were constantly relieving themselves in the morning.
Air conditioning up stairs had a musty smell. This might have been because it wasn't running due to the battery being dead on the thermostat.

“Great Location, Great Spot to Stay, Close to EVERYTHING”
Reviewed 5 December 2013 for a stay in January 2012

I stayed here with my family, a couple friends and my boyfriend. In total there were 8 of us on this trip staying in this house. It fit all of us perfectly!

First off, it is close to everything. Literally a 30 second - 1 min walk to the beach. The beach is a bit rocky but when you walk down, it clears off. We fished off the dock and caught amazing fish!!! We didnt keep any, but it will still fun to try it out. The water was so clear and beautiful. Warm and so many fish, turtles and small stingray right off the beach. Don't be alarmed, they were really, really, really far out. Me and my boyfriend had to swim far to see them (we are young, 20 year olds). Some fish and turtles near the shore though! Careful of sea urchins, they are in the rocky parts!!

Down the street, there is a bar/restaurant called 'Calico Jacks' and oh my goodness it is amazing!!!! We went there for New Years Eve and it was the most amazing New Years party I have ever been to! SO wonderful. Full of young people. We went back the next day to go to the beach there and it was also amazing. Clear and no rocks. And plus Calico Jacks was right there to get some food and drinks.

If you are in Cayman, you must go to Stringray Bay and the Turtle Farm!! Even a young adult like me, I thought it was great and such an amazing experiece. At both places you can touch the stingrays and feed them and at the farm, you can hold the turtles. WOW!

We also scuba dove here. Most beautiful coral reef I have ever seen and I have been scuba diving for 9 years. The water is so warm that you dont need wetsuits. Which I love. Lots of sea life and we even went to a ship wreak! It was so cool!!

Overall, Cayman is a friendly Island. Relaxing, beautiful and always sunny. There are all sorts of things to do. It is obviouslly different since it is not a resort but this way you can experience Cayman at a better price than a resort.

“Excellent villa/home for families”
Reviewed 11 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed at the Tiki House from June 3 thru the 10th. Family of 5 including a baby and toddler and couldn't ask for anymore than this home offered. Everything you could ask for was already included or very easily provided by the owner and property managers. We needed a few extra items such as a crib and high chair and they were setup and ready to go when we arrived. 2 bedrooms on the first floor and a full bath, and 2 bedrooms on the second floor with a full bath. All amenities that you think you may need, this house has. It's located close to restaurants, beach(es), gas stations, grocery stores and more. You can take little walks or jump in your car an be at 7 Mile Beach within 5 minutes. Property is very well taken care of and in immaculate condition. Cable TV and wifi worked flawlessly the entire duration on the island. Definitely try Tim Buk Tuu if you want very good food within a very short walk or drive. Overall, a great vacation made better because of the TIki House.

“Cute but NOT on the Beach and NOT in town”

We have stayed in a variety of Cayman Rentals over the years both condos and rental houses.
Tiki House had some positives and some negatives like most rentals.
Positives included:
- clean, well laid out , had 4 bedrooms, decent kitchen, functional main floor air conditioning. The outer garden sitting area was great with a giant iguana in the palm tree by the road.
Negatives included:
- this home is NOT on the 7 mile beach - the Photos showing the Beach/Ocean view is between buildings across the street with a telephoto and it is a 100 yard walk up the road to the West Bay Dock the Northern extent of the '7 MILE BEACH"- to say it is "beach view or Ocean view or "7 Mile Beach Area".....is just plain misleading.
- This home is directly on busy North West Point Rd in West Bay (not Georgetown where the shops and bars are - these are 2-3 miles away too far to walk). It is anything but quiet.
The unsecured WiFi internet was flaky , but adequate for email and surfing.
The upper "Finding Nemo" bedroom was tiny and had "something" chewing/moving in the walls - which kept our son up all night and left a pile of sawdust under the baseboard outside the door.(he moved downstairs after that).
- it was not a bargain - we paid $3000USD for the Christmas week and for that amount in the past on Grand Cayman we have had better space in a better location.
Last comment - good restaurants (Tim Buc Tuu, El Fresco) close by and Boats+Butlers Property Management did a good job.
