So this was our first experience with the French "chambre d'hote"...
I must say it was quite interesting.
Florance and Frederic, are very nice people and very hospitable (my wife specially enjoyed to practice here French with them). The rooms are cozy, with all what you need available. We stayed on a first floor just near the living room, with a double bed and a shower. Word of advice to the future visitors let the water run for a bit, the pipes are probably long and it takes them about 3-4 minutes to get warm. The rooms are very nice and clean.
The sitting and the dinning area are furnished in old style, although for my taste it needs a little shake off. There is a TV (but we didn't turn it on, the mountain view was much better) and some magazines and board games for you.
The break fast was minimal, don't expect something fancy. However, the home made jams are fantastic. Here I have one minus for this place, it would have been good to start a morning with some sort of a porridge a long side those incredible jams. But we did well with what we got. To be honest this minimal breakfast allowed as to be more agile at the ski slopes.
In general, this is a very nice place and in short driving distances from a lot of great ski resorts and some very beautiful bicycle roots. It took us about 20 minutes to get to Orcieres Merlette. BUT you have to have a CAR!
Enjoy your stay.
