We booked online - Melbourne to Athens and return London Heathrow to Melbourne via Singapore. The Melbourne to Athens was an Emirates code share flight. As a Qantas club member, I don't normally have to pay for seat selection, but because it was an Emirates flight, we had to pay. And the seat numbers don't show up on the Qantas system 'Manage your flights'. The check in process at London Heathrow was excellent - very efficient, no problems. The food on both legs of the flight was very disappointing, especially the vegetarian meals. Flight crew were not very friendly and on a number of occasions forgot things while serving our meals.

Efficient check in (the extra on board allowance meant no need for check in luggage). The business lounge in Sydney is good and the crew there and back were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
I appreciated being able to have a shower in the LA lounge while transiting - the US lounges are a lot busier than Sydney.
I was a little worried about only having 2 hours to clear customs/immigration and check in at LA but there was plenty of time (might be a different story if I had to wait for checked bags), and staff were on hand to give directions.
The food was a little bit on the underwhelming side. Not all choices were available and one of the meals definitely looked a little un-appetising. Maybe fish isn't a good choice on a plane...

Check in online and just drop off the bag.During the flight we had lost the In-Flight entertainment (WiFi) connection they have to try fews time to get it going at the end is all sorted.
The crews members are good.
over all is a pleasent flight.

The main reason for using Qantas is their safety record. But the on-board service is way behind their Asian counterparts. As an example, on the flight I changed my mind about a meal choice and the air stewardess just about through my second choice at me in a moment of rage. Sadly, many staff on-board look ageing and while I have no problem with that, they seem to have run out of the joy of life and very little patience in offering exceptional customer service. Also, after take off you get a bottle of water (how boring) instead of the usual peanuts with a drink choice. Many staff would be well advised to do exercise as they are looking quite chubby. Talk about extra weight on the plane! Qantas should look at own backyard.

Flight was lovely, crew fantastic customer service and legroom plenty. Overall it was a very good flight
