My first time i flay Etihad Melbourne to Rome clean aircraft great food but the stars are the staff. The airport staff are helpful, courteous and polite. The cabin crew members are truly fantastic. Friendly, caring, obliging and concerned excellent service, comfortable seats could not have asked for a better flight truly a great airline to fly, all the staff were courteous and friendly and met the needs of everyone

We flew Etihad from Melbourne to Dublin with a stopover in Abu Dhabi on the way home and I was quite concerned after reading some terrible reviews. However, we found them to be absolutely excellent, particularly with the kids. As we were travelling with a five year old and a 21 month old, I was worried about how they would go during the flights but the crew were all so helpful in making sure they were looked after.

WHAT WE LOVED:
From the moment we were on the plane in Melbourne, the onboard nanny greeted us and our kids and gave them some activity packs. We were also given some baby food for our little one. On each flight, we found the crew to be absolutely wonderful. Special mention to Diana who was on our flight from Abu Dhabi to Melbourne on the 9th November 2019. She was so lovely and helpful and went out of her way to look after us and our kids. Truly an asset to Etihad!

On our second flight from Abu Dhabi to Dublin, I felt really ill and the crew looked after me and checked on me throughout the flight.

The food was really good and there were a great selection of drinks to choose from. The child meal for our five year old was also really nice and we loved that she was served first so we could help her and then tag team with our own meals.

Boarding and disembarking was also great. We always had all the help we needed.

WHAT WE DIDN'T LIKE:
They don't fly out of Adelaide, so it did mean an extra flight to Melbourne - but worth it.

The onboard nannies from Abu Dhabi to Dublin and Dublin to Abu Dhabi weren't as good. In fact, we didn't really see them. It was the other staff who looked after us, which was fine. They were all brilliant. But, as a selling point to families for the airline, it's worth a mention.

All in all, a really wonderful experience and we will definitely be flying with them again.

Flying from Sydney to Europe in economy class is always an unpleasant experience, but the flight on Etihad's Airbus 380 made this a lot more bearable because we had a good amount of room. Etihad's 777 was less room, but still good.

The checking in Sydney was very well organised.
Seat selection had to be paid for on three of the four flights.
General the flights felt a bit chilly.
The food was OK.

Four flights with Etihad on this trip to England. Food was good for economy class and compared equally to Qatar and Emirates. Drinks service was same as on the other Middle Eastern Airlines. Checkin with a large group of 60 people was seamless and easy. Ground staff and cabin crew were all friendly. Aircraft were relatively new (except for the older boeing 777 on the first leg of the flight). The A380 Seats and experience was far better than on the Boeing. The only aspect that does NOT compare well to other Middle Eastern airlines was the Entertainment system. The best system is ICE on Emirates. Then comes Qatar, and in third place Etihad suffers a bit, but still enough things to watch and keep me occupied.

Abu Dhabi airport is NOT nice. Dubai and Doha airports are far better. Especially the security check was a slow and frustrating experience with so many people crowded together and sneaking through lines and lines of labyrinthine queueing aisles. But apparently the new Midfield Terminal will open soon, which might make Etihad a better choice for longer airport layovers.

With it being the cheapest of the three airlines, I really recommend it for value.
