It’s really a completely no frills and it’s membership of the Star Alliance group is not based on service levels but probably the size of their fleet.
At check in the staff kept on trying out the self serve machine despite me telling her it won’t work because I will be connecting iPhone Manila...wasted time there...and the unfriendly ground staff at check in who refused to put a priority tag due to its being transferred resulted in a very long delay in waiting for my bags at my destination.

I paid for a forward seat and upon take off , the area had less passengers...however upon reaching cruising altitude several passengers started moving towards the area I had to confront the purser and had them back in their seats....no menu cards ..lousy food,,no amenity kit....and a really bad black blanket....with fibres that stick to your clothing...hit and miss regarding service levels of the flight attendants ...and the review is similar to the return without the passengers moving as it was a fuller flight.

Thats what I get for flying the cheapest ..

Flight attendants seemed rude and not attentive at all. Was hard to 'catch them' as they passed by. Appeared to have little courtesy, one literally threw cookies on the table. And despite fasten seatbelt sign many passengers walking around, standing in the ways and the crew not reacting to this. Will avoid booking with this airline in the future.

Flying by Airbus, but they put a small steel box under the chair for the television, so the space for my foot is limited. Air china should realize that it is a long flight, it is not so comfortable if you don't have many space for the feet.

Pretty good experience, especially with the entertainment system. Not the best selection of movies (compared to, say SIA) but decent enough, and the system was touch screen, so no need to fumble with a wired controller.

It was an average airline and airplane service was not too bad and the food was pretty good but I think what made it bad were there rude a lot of the rude Chinese passengers which obviously aren’t all of them but there a lot and they even trashed the bathrooms!
