“Avoid at all cost!”
Review of Air Canada

Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I fly at least 40 times a year, I used to like Air Canada, in the last 8 months they have been getting bad. But now they exceeded the ability to disrespect their customer. I took an insurance for my flight while booking on Air Canada. They wrongly cancelled my flight, I ended up in Delhi with no flight back. I rebooked with British Airway (great by the way and cheaper) now, AC dosent want to reimburse me AND are pushing me towards the insurance. Which dosent recognize my insurance coverage since AC changed the confirmation number when they cancelled. It is a vicious circle, and a vicious company. Avoid at all cost they just don’t care. By the way Hopper insurance is not much better, even if the ticket number stated the same they decline covering the cancellation, well that was worth paying 367$ for cancellation insurance! Over all I’m loosing 2600$

PLEASE EVERYONE READ
I had really bad experience with the staff of Air Canada at the checkpoint at pearson international airport . every year I book a trip for my family with Air Canada and First, you guys lost a lot of customer now second just because I got wrong documents which is not my mistake I couldn’t travel yesterday.
I got to the airport Wednesday, November 6 between 1:30 PM till 2:30 PM, I tried to talk to supervisor of Air Canada to discuss my options they treat me really bad and They insulted me and Discriminated me
They were talking to me from the top of their nose they said you don’t understand and they starting talking about immigrants and refugee. And the lady told me you’re a refugee you’re not allowed to travel even though i Came to Canada via spouse sponsorship. I talked to two staff a male and a female and they both were rude and offensive the guy was telling me to go google my answers. I asked him so Google know better than immigration of Canada and government he said yes of course ask Google and with really bad attitude. which is the whole time I try to be calm and control myself to be respectful. I have big following on social media just Instagram I have 10,000 K and TikTok I have 30,000 k and I will share with my friends

Worst experience ever! Our flight was delayed 3 hours which would have made us miss our connection. I went to Air Canada and they booked us with United which was also delayed and would make us miss our connection. Went back to Air Canada and they said they couldn’t help us and ended up canceling our reservation completely. We had to return home and learned our bags were already in Newark. We received them 2 days later. We had to rebook our trip at Twice the cost-$20,000!!!!! No help from Air Canada. We missed 5 days of our cruise. When we finally reached our port (chasing the boat), we found out our bags were still in Phoenix with Air Canada! We got them 5 days later!!!!!!!! This was the worst travel trip ever!!!!! We will never use Air Canada again!

Please listen to me and never book with Air Canada. I am not one of those angry people that likes to leave bad reviews but I've flown twice with Air Canada those past two years (the second time was only because they gave me a sad 20% coupon code to apologize for my terrible experience) and both time I've arrived more than 24 hours late to my final destination and both times they want nothing to do with compansating me. Please please please fly with any other airlines.

Took Air Canada (AC) flight 342 from Vancouver to Ottawa on October 28, 2024. Direct non-stop YVR-YOW flights are rare in Canada so you grab what you can get.

First, their entertainment system did not work. My screen at 13A was white with a red arrow circling round and round. The screen for 13B was black. The crew "tried to fix" the entertainment system. It worked for 40 minutes. Then ALL seat screens were black for the remainder of the flight. What is wrong with the electrical system on board this aircraft? Who knows. AC does not say. Their Customer Care says they “apologize for the inconvenience”. Ha!

Second, the window between seats 12A and 13A had condensation between the acrylic panels because the seal was broken. Nothing could be seen thru the accumulated frost/condensation between. So what else is wrong with this 787 “Dreamliner”? Another who knows, not saying. This window problem was obvious before takeoff but never addressed. Leaves passengers wondering what else is wrong with this flying (for now) piece of junk.

Third, a "PRIORITY" tag was placed on my bag as I checked in at Vancouver. This is a joke, right? My bag was one of the last slammed onto carrousel #3 in Ottawa on October 28, 2024. This is "PRIORITY"? Nor was this the first time. My bag was in the final quarter of bags offloaded in Vancouver on October 22, 2024. This is hardly an 'oversight' or an 'accident'. It is a regular occurrence with AC. Their contract with the baggage handling company is a farce.

In summary, on one flight, AC 342, they managed to not have a functioning entertainment system, to operate an aircraft with a defective window and to ignore 'priority' baggage. That's three for three. Way to go, Air Cannot!
