Used Kulula for the second time in 7 months and the feeling is still the same- they get you where you want to go. Legroom is limited and that's a nightmare for an adult to be ''squashed'' on a 2 hour trip. The planes are a bit old and seats not so comfortable- even though this flight was a bit more comfortable than one I used in May 2017 to go to Durban.

We have flown with Kulula on many occasions and have always found them to be efficient. We book online which is really easy and one can select from a number of flight times and airports. One only needs to produce their I.D. document to check in for domestic flights. The aeroplane was very clean and the onboard staff courteous and helpful. In-flight snacks and beverages are adequate for short haul flights, try to have the exact money for your purchase. Although leg room may be a little tight the seating in comfortable. We usually book our seats in advance for additional cost which saves the embarrassment of maybe sitting apart if the aircraft is fully booked (as they usually are). Remember to adhere to the luggage restrictions to avoid additional costs or problems. Our favorite airport for embarkation is Lanseria because it is so user friendly.

The lady at the Kulula check-in counters was very concerned about our one bag that weighed 23kg while the other bag weighed only 13kg. We had to transfer soem items from the one bag to the other in order to ensure that the weight of the one bag did not exceed 20kg. It so happened that the same lady also checked in a very over-weight passenger - allocating the window seat next to us to him. When he took his seat, we could not fit in the remainder two seats. The cabin attendant allocated two other empty seats to us. Weight-sharing of 3 kg between two checked-in bags is a major problem for Kulula and not allowed, however allocating a window seat to a passenger weighing at least 150kg and allocating the middle and isle seats to two other passengers - expecting them to fit in is no problem to Kulula at all!!

When fetching our checked-in luggage after our flight, we noticed the padlock was removed. We reported the incident to the Kulula's representative and were informed that there were a few incidents for the day have been reported already. The luggage were opened, the missing items identified and listed by the representative. We had to lodge several enquiries regarding progress made with "the investigation" and eventually we were offered an "extremely generous" amount of R300 as "full and final settlement.” When we declined the mere offer, you should have taken note of the attitude of Kulula Client Services - including that of their Legal Department! Kulula is welcome to use the R300 compensation offered to buy a Coke to celebrate the loss of another passenger.

The flight was on time. Take-off was smooth but landing was rough. The cabin was clean but not very clean. The leg space was not adequate. The cabin crew was welcoming. The captain informed the passengers about the route.

Luckily this was only for a very short flight. The seating space is very small and the interior of the plane is worn down. The seats do no longer sit comfortable.
