Pay the extra minor fee to be able to get your seat assignments and pre-boarding.
Interestingly, travelers over 60 years of age get to board first in Lima, Peru.
If you have any problems with the web site, there is no ability to talk to anyone in English. You push the button for English, but no one answers. Overall the flight was fairly priced.

We needed a ticket for a one-way trip, I had heard horror stories about some airlines. Sky was a lucky find - we were given an allowance for two suit cases in the hold (which is generous for a no frills airline). We had three cases and I offered to pay for the extra one. The weighed all the cases, decided that we were within the upper limit - and there was no charge.Check-in was efficient, I can't comment on the service on board as I slept - but I liked their attitude at the check-in counter

A nice flight over the Andes with destination Montevideo. New looking aircraft, friendly cabin crew and yes, pay for food and drinks, but then again, you fly budget. Seats and legspace were good for us taller Europeans. Happily fly them again anytime

be prepared to pay for non expected fees...
no free meals or snacks or water on board
very tide seats compared to southwest airline for example
staff behind counter are not well trained on customer service and/or to honestly explain their system of charging extra fees
low cost airline on name only ... compared to southwest which is a true low cost airline
a positive note they depart on time and airplanes are relatively new

We went on roughly a dozen flights during our 5 weeks in South America and Sky were the best airline out of all of them. We had 3 flights on Sky and they all went perfectly... even better than LAN in our experience. The planes aren't anything special comfort-wise, but neither are any of their competitors - the prices are good, the website works incredibly well (puts Australian airlines to shame), all the staff we interacted with spoke English and were helpful (although nothing went wrong for us so we didn't need them much).

The only thing to watch out for is that they don't have the normal carry-on baggage convention of letting you bring whatever you want. They will measure anything that looks like it won't fit on the cage and make you check it, which I believe costs extra. However, even LAN does this so there's not much of a way around it.
