De Hoop places to stay

Hello,

I wanted to do a full day and overnight at De Hoop however the accommodation within the reserve is fully booked. Does anyone know of places very nearby that would be a good and close option to stay? My guide book mentions Buchu Bushcamp, but their website leads me to believe they aren't open. I also browsed Swellendam and Bredasdorp, but I'm unsure if that's a good choice.

We are coming from the Stellenbosch area and then returning back to Cape Town.

Swellendam & Bredasdorp are a bit far, have a look at Infanta & Witsand, the later is one of my favourite places in the Overberg.

Hi Farrah

Swellendam is not too far at all. We often send guests down to De Hoop (60km on dirt road), then on to Cape Agulhas (southernmost tip of Africa & tar road) and then on the tar road back through Bredasdorp (stopping for tea & coffee at Julians) and on to Swellendam. This can all be done in a day.

Bredasdorp is definitely a bit closer, but you could also stay in Arniston (which is STUNNINGLY beautiful and on the beach). I am not too sure of how to get to the Nature Reserve from Arniston though. You would probably have to double back to Bredasdorp and enter from that side.
