Great Estates PASS == ??

See Viator is offering a Great Estates Pass for "discounted admission" to FDR and other sites-- has anyone used it - is it worth it?? There are only 4 reviews on the Viator site--

I called FDR and it;s First Come- First serve-- they open at 9"30 am but we will end up there on a October weekday... ??

Thoughts input-- thanks!

Don't use third party providers unless there is no alternative. And that one isn't one of the better ones.

You should check and see what the National Park Service fee is. I believe the fee for the FDR estate includes, in addition to Springwood (think that is name of FDR house), the FDR library, both Eleanor and Franklin's hideaway cottages AND the nearby Vanderbilt mansion, which is also National Parks property.

The fee for the FDR site is $20 per person-- but as the woman who answered the phone said first come to get the tickets-- so when you buy this pass which is interesting it says 2 hours-- there is no way you can cover 4 sites in 2 hours... if that insures you get in on that day-- I know Viator will tell me what I want to here but I want real information-- it;s not about the money when you have limited day planned to be in an area when traveling--

thank you for any more info you might give

I don't think you can cover all the sites in a day, much less 2 hours. Also, at least as far as the Roosevelt properties are concerned, you have to take the National Parks van to the two cottages, and it has a schedule, so can 't just go to them whenever you want (for example, if you have a car). Actually, you can also get to the Vanderbilt mansion in the van, don't know if they allow you to drive there (can't drive to the outlying Roosevelt properties).

When I was up there I took the NPS van from the Poughkeepsie train station and on the way the ranger explained the set up and how you had to plan how you were going to do it because van schedule didn't permit seeing all in one day.

I would skip Viator. They will sell tickets wherever they can, but probably know little about what they sell..

In my experience, there are not mobs of people up there trying to get in, like, say, at some of the museums in NYC. So I don't think there is any point in buying something with "guaranteed" access. Just read the NPS website page for these properties and see if that will work for you.
