Tulum Beach Crawl

Thought I would start a thread - tell me if you have tried any of these places or any other Beach clubs

1st:

Understand the beach and map of the area

See www.todotulum.com/tulum-mexico-maps.php

We start at OM with a few beer - take a photo of yourself on the bench - a keeper

See http://www.tulum-playa.com/

Then off to La Zebra for a famous mojito with a real sugar cane stir stick

http://www.lazebratulum.com/

Then El paraiso for a dip in the pool and a few more cervesas

See - http://www.elparaisotulum.com/beach-club.htm

Then to Ziggy Beach - great 2 for 1 drinks, wonderful bathrooms and good food

http://www.cabanastulum.com/

Get them to call a cab

Finish off at Playa Azul

Thanks VSD! We are planning to do the Tulum Ruins first and then take a cab to the beach.

Went to a north end beach bar this week (1 km from the Ruins) at Zazil Kin

Lots of parking , great 2for1 happy hour from Noon-3 pm, lots and lots of sand, free beach chairs and tables when you order drinks

Did a few trips to Tulum

The taco bar at Parayso was excellent and very cheap - great hot sauces

La Zebra has expanded their hotel and large bar/restaurant - while I love this place, their margs / mojitos are overpriced imho so check there prices

Tried a few new places

Mateo - great food / large servings

Zamas - great peaceful beach bar - drinks reasonable

Los Lirios/Los Corales - use the pool, reasonable good drinks / good food

We plan to see the ruins early and then do the beach crawl. Is this the best bet for transportation?

Akumal to ruins-Colectivo

Ruins to Tulum pueblo (San Fransico?)-Colectivo

Tulum pueblo to OM-taxi

Ziggy's to Pueblo-taxi

Then the Colectivo back to Akumal

sounds like a great day

Replace these two options

Ruins to Tulum pueblo (San Fransico?)-Colectivo

Tulum pueblo to OM-taxi

with

A taxi from the Ruins to OM

We are planning on doing the ruins first thing in the morning, then spending the day at the beach - some swimming in the waves, lunch (some nice sea food would be great) and drinks before heading back to GBP Akumal.

If you had to recommend just one (or maybe a short list of 3) to meet our needs above, which would you recommend. I've looked at a few online, and Ziggy's looks top of my list. I don't think we are up to doing the full crawl, sorry!

Phillip - we were there last year - We started at La Zebra - nice chairs , then Om get a photo on 'The Chair' , we stopped at a couple more but ended up for food at Ziggys. Great Days & Great Memories that we hope to do again this year 😎 Enjoy making yours.
