Tulum Beach Crawl

Thought I would start a thread - tell me if you have tried any of these places or any other Beach clubs

1st:

Understand the beach and map of the area

See www.todotulum.com/tulum-mexico-maps.php

We start at OM with a few beer - take a photo of yourself on the bench - a keeper

See http://www.tulum-playa.com/

Then off to La Zebra for a famous mojito with a real sugar cane stir stick

http://www.lazebratulum.com/

Then El paraiso for a dip in the pool and a few more cervesas

See - http://www.elparaisotulum.com/beach-club.htm

Then to Ziggy Beach - great 2 for 1 drinks, wonderful bathrooms and good food

http://www.cabanastulum.com/

Get them to call a cab

Finish off at Playa Azul

No mangling allowed ;)

I did some research on the forum regarding the distance between GBP and Tulum and never reached a definitive answer. Good to hear 15 minutes!

Do you, by chance, know the taxi fare or the colectivo fare from GBP to Tulum Beach??? Appreciated!

Can't wait to hit the beach crawl :)

1st:

Get a taxi called for you inside your resort (any), expect to pay upto 10$/100 pesos extra

Go out to the Hwy, open season and you can bargain, especially if you say you are waiting for a colectivo

a colectivo to Tulum hwy / pueblo is 20-25 pesos each

Taxi down to the beach are is 70-100 pesos

Taxi for both - 200-250 pesos

Don't know I'd this a silly question or not but...........when you walk down to the beach at the tulum section of the GBP which way do you turn left or right and how long till you hit the beach clubs??

Jonny: when you are at the GBP, head out to the Hacienda (you can take a shuttle there) then head out to the highway. You can speak to the taxi wrangler and he will hook you up with a cab or if you find the price too high you can walk towards the highway. The price usually comes down if they realize that you are willing to take a cab.

The beach clubs are in Tulum which is a geographical location with a beach/playa section and a pueblo/town section. The beach clubs people are talking about are located at the beach section of Tulum.

The GBP has sections named after geographical locations (the towns of Akumal and Tulum and the ruin site of Coba and the area called Sian Ka'an). It can get confusing.

Have a great trip with the jocks Jonny!

Too funny Jonny - yes, I see how this would be confusing

The walk would be 4-5 hours

The beach clubs I mentioned are a few miles south of the Tulum Ruins
