We will be in obx in August and would like to order crab legs to make at our beach house in Corolla. We are a large group of 8 families. Where is best to order from?
Assuming you're referring to king crab legs, you can get the same legs in any grocery store's frozen seafood section in the country (they all ship frozen from Alaskan waters). So try Harris Teeter or Food Lion. If you order them through a restaurant, you'll get the same legs, but with the restaurant's markup in price. If you prefer, there's a good seafood store in Monteray Plaza/Food Lion, it's called Dockside North Seafood - all kinds of seafood available for purchase as well as King Crab Legs - http://www.docksidenorth.com/
Any grocery or sea food place will have them, they come from Alaska. There is a Harris Teeter in Corolla and I am sure they will have them. You might find King Crab but more than likely you will find the Snow Crab legs since they are much more common here. They are the ones that have 5 legs per "hand" as they call them.Edited: 25 July 2018, 16:52
I'd urge you to support the local economy and local watermen/women and buy some local seafood instead. We have Blue Crabs here and local shrimp and lots of fish.
We will def be enjoying plenty of shrimp and fish!!
