We are planning to do a trip to Mountain Creek this winter. There are 4 adults and 4 tweens (age 9-13) and we are going there to ski. We want to stay slopeside or walking distance to the lifts. Besides the Appalachian hotel, what are some of the other options?

What level of Skiers are you? I learned ti ski at MC in the 70's, they don't have a lot of slopeside. Camelback in the poconos might have more options, but, unless everyone is a raw beginner, you will get more options, better terrain, better snow, smaller crowds, and more bang for the buck in Vermont or NH.

Kids are intermediate (some lower intermediate and other upper intermediate). One is a lower expert. Adults are upper intermediate to expert. We chose MC because two families are meeting up there, each coming from an opposite direction. Any others ideas besides The Appalachian to be near the slopes? Are there any other areas with some restaurants or evening activities in a walk-able area but not near the ski hill?

Not to be a nudge but why there- snow very unpredictable- you should head to upstate NY or vermont better guarantee of snow.

It was chosen because it is halfway between two families. Both families grew up skiing in NH and Maine and went to college in Vermont so we know about the better options in the east. We looked at the other options and they are all too lopsided when it comes to travel distance. It is just as much about meeting up and socializing as it is about skiing, hence the question. Again, any other slopeside or walking/pedestrian village areas to stay?
