We are thinking of visiting Sayulita around Easter. We were looking at arriving Easter Monday and staying the following week (Apr. 13-20) but I am wondering how busy it will be during that week? I know that Easter is a very significant holiday in Mexico so just trying to gauge how busy it will be and if there will be any cool celebratrions to experience. Thanks in advace for any tips!

Semana Santa and then Pascua (Holy week and Easter week) are huge two week celebration for Mexicans who head to the beach with their families. It might even be the biggest beach holiday in Mexico. I don't know if Sayulita is affected, as it is kind of more of a foreign tourist destination than neighboring communities.

Semana Santa was our first visit to Sayulita. Our extended family of 15 rented Casa Paloma 2 years ago and it was awesome. Yes, the town is crazy and yes, you’ll hear band music until the wee hours of the morning. But that’s

what made this trip truly memorable. Get away from the crowds by heading to playa los muertos. During the day, town wasn’t too bad, but dinner was a challenge with our large group. You’ll hear fireworks nightly and can watch the local Catholic Church re-enact Christ carrying the Cross through the streets on Good Friday. You’ll have a great time.....

The week following Easter Sunday (Semana Pascua) is much quieter than the week leading up to Easter Sunday (Semana Santa). It's still very definitely busier than a normal week just not as busy as the week before. Celebrations tend to take place during the week leading up to Easter Sunday.
