Lodging for April Juke Joint Festival

We would like to attend Clarksdale's Juke Joint Festival this April, but it looks like the local motels are fully booked. Is it too late for this year, or can someone suggest alternative lodging? Thank you!

Don't miss Vicksburg and Natchez on MS river. Also Oxford is a great small town with Faulkner, Ole Miss and some nice restaurants.

Hi…we're in the same boat (not booking far enough ahead). We booked at room in Helena, AK just in case and we'll keep checking to see if there are cancellations at Clarksdale accommodation.

We know there are two rooms (checked tonight) at the Delta Bohemian second property called The White House. However, they are beyond our price range and there is a minimum booking for 5 nights.

Are you interested in camping?

DT25…just checked Isle of Capri….if the rates are correct ($159.00 a night??) then you would certainly have a much nicer room at The White House right in Clarksdale. Book asap if you are interested.

We ended up staying at the Isle of Capri casino hotel, and it was fine. The room was not fancy, but clean, comfortable, and quiet. There was no shuttle to the festival this year. We did not eat in the restaurants except the express breakfast on our departure day, which was fine, better than the typical free chain motel breakfast. It took us about half an hour to drive to Clarksdale on the back road which was pleasant though not well-marked (we were told the highway route is longer but faster speed, so about the same). We left the festival earlier in the evenings than we might have if staying closer, but after full days of enjoying the music, that was fine. We already see that closer lodgings are booked for next year! Maybe we'll have to plan our return for 2018! We were so glad to have planned the trip to Clarksdale during the festival, which was great fun. Very friendly people, lots of great music, decent food from street vendors as well as restaurants. Our first visit to MS and it much exceeded our expectations. From there we spent a few days in Florence, AL (WC Handy Museum, AL Music Hall of Fame), our first visit to that state as well. A great music lovers' vacation! Thank you again for all the suggestions.

Thanks for posting your experience! There certainly seems to be curiosity in the festival and now there's some first-hand reporting from the trenches. You make it sound like a good time. Best of luck with your future lodging!
