Interesting sites along the way

After staying in Mackinaw Island, we are catching the Ferry back to Mackinaw City and then driving to Sault St. Marie. We will try to do the 3:30 Soo Locks tour, but is there anything else we should stop at on the way? The next day we are driving to Marquette and stopping by the Falls and shipwreck museum. Should we attempt one of those on the way instead?

Lots of things to do in Mackinaw City. Not much on the way up to the Soo.

The only attraction which could compete with Tahquamenon Falls on the next day is Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore.

If you get to Sault Ste. Marie early enough you could tour the Museum Ship Valley Camp. Very cool. Or tour the sites in Mackinaw City before heading to Sault Ste. Marie (Old Mackinac lighthouse, McGulpin Point lighthouse, Fort Michillimackinac).

There is nothing to see along I-75 between St. Ignace and Sault Ste. Marie.

Definitely save the Falls and the shipwreck museum for the next day because you will need several hours for that. From Sault Ste. Marie to the Falls take Six Mile Rd./Lakeshore Drive through the Bay Mills Indian Community and also stop at that Point Iroquois lighthouse

If you are going to do a museum ship, I think the Icebreaker Mackinaw in Mackinaw City is much more interesting than the Valley Camp.

I'd def recommend the Ship Valley Camp. The kids loved it back in the day, and I think we went 3x over the years.

I'd def not miss Pictured Rocks, if it's a nice day and you like boat rides. If so, try to take the one that includes Spray Falls!
