If you have a credit card which does not charge foreign transaction fees, using it will be the best exchange rate you are likely to get.

Usually in Border towns you can pay with American currency but you may get Canadian currency in return … they love getting American money since it’s more valuable, so you will pay a little bit of a unofficial exchange rate.

Current exchange rate is $.74 American equals one Canadian dollar
