We are planning to visit in a couple of weeks (our trip last year was canceled, unfortunately), and have questions about parking. Last year, we had planned to stay at a campground in town; however, after we rescheduled not as far in advance, we will now be driving in for the day. Where is the best place to park and then walk on foot? I am thinking maybe Brady Park area, as one of our plans is to walk the historic area... We like to walk, so have no problem with the distance from there to town and the Soo visitor center, etc.

Is there a charge to park there or elsewhere in town? We do not really want to do meter parking, as we are planning on several hours in town to walk, eat, shop, etc.
