Are there any liquor stores in Clearwater that sell beer by the individual bottle/can? I want to try a bunch of local/Florida beers without having to buy 6-packs or 4-packs.
Thanks!

Hi Jacob! I cannot answer your question, but if you take a short ride to Tarpon Springs you can check out Silverking Brewery, owned and run by local fishing captain Bret Gamrot. Besides trying some awesome local beer ... by the glass, not multipack .... you can also hear some great local info and fishing tips!
Edited: 5 years agoNot sure about Clearwater, but, the Publix in Cape Coral all have selections of individual bottles and cans. I've not paid much attention, but, I'm guessing some will be local.
There are also several brew pubs in downtown Dunedin.
My go to is one of the stores from this chain, prices are great, the Dunedin store is brand new and huge-somewhat similar to Liquor Barn in Lexington, Kentucky. Not everything is available in singles though.

The following link has many if not all craft breweries in the area.
If you are staying at the beach-you can take the Clearwater Ferry from the marina at the beach to Dunedin on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and check out the 7-8 microbreweries there all within walking distance of the dock but your trip there and return must be pre-booked online.
Thank you. Do you know if they package any of their beer? I’ll have my two young kids with me... so enjoying a brewery isn’t going to be possible. I’m hoping for stuff I can take back to the condo
This brewery "canned" their Apricot Peach Ale for me to take to my hotel-tasty stuff.

I'm pretty sure this brewery has some of their canned beers in a fridge:
Just an FYI-Dunedin is about 7 miles from Clearwater.
Edited: 5 years agoMost breweries in the Bay area are extremely family friendly.
I can speak for here more than Tampa, but we can get one or two very local breweries at Publix.
Cigar City will definitely have a few selections at Publix. Most of Publix's other more local craft beers are from Brew Hub. I am not as crazy about the Brew Hub Beers. Total Wine and ABC over here seem to have a better selection of the Florida beer.
With respect to the breweries, I would not have issues taking kids. We have one here that has a little stretch of grass for the kids to play in. We have others with board games. You can do flights if you want to try things in small quantities, and you can take a growler, 4 pack. or six pack back with you.
ABC liquor sells individual beers. Located on Missouri Ave. A short detour. Also world of beers located on corner of Ulmerton and Clearwater-largo rd.
Luekens Liquor is in Pinellas County and carries a wide variety of local beers. The one in Clearwater is located off US Hwy 19 N at SR 590. Also Publix grocery stores have some selections as well.
As for the kids - they can go in 99% of breweries after 7pm and all of them before then. The can’t sit at the bar but most breweries in the area have board games, video games and/or lawn games everyone can enjoy.
Edited: 5 years agoIsland Market surprisingly has a big selection of beers, also, grocery items, 646 S Gulfview Blvd, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767. Plus they have liquor store too. I am a local and was impressed with their selection last time on beach.
