Road trip from Bloemfontein to Lesotho - ATMs in Lesotho?

I posted this in the Lesotho and South Africa general forums but since there is so much more activity here I thought I would ask again. Thanks for understanding.

I am considering 3 weeks in Lesotho. I always prefer to use ATMs to get cash as needed, not wanting to travel around with a lot of cash on my person. Typically when I travel I'm withdraw a few days or a week's worth of cash from ATMs in cities and towns as I go along. On this trip I will also have a car so in addition I will have the extra expense of petrol, etc.

So, can anyone tell me if there are ATMs available throughout the country where I may make cash withdrawals from my local bank account (in the USA)? This is what I've done all over the world but I read that in Lesotho ATMs capable of International cash withdrawals were only available in Maseru. Is this true??? I know I can use SA Rand but this still means carrying tons of cash around for a 3 week trip.

You can find ATMs in banks, malls and major grocery stores (pick n pay etc) and also at casino hotels (2 in Maseru). That's about it. The banks and stores are going to be in the major cities, so if you're traveling and spending time in rural areas you might need to plan ahead. Also remember that the Maloti is not convertible back, so you're better off having and spending Rand rather than being stuck with Maloti at the end. You can use credit cards at most hotels and formal shops so you might try that too if you do't want to carry cash. Overall Lesotho is a lot safer than South Africa so you should not have a problem if you are careful. Have fun!

Three South African banks, FNB, Nedbank and Standard Bank - have Lesotho subsidiaries. In any town in Lesotho (eg, Roma, Mafeteng, Mohale's Hoek, Maputsoe, Butha-Buthe, Hlotse, Leribe), at least one of these three banks will have a branch complete with ATM/s. I see no reason why transactions on a card not issued in Lesotho cannot be switched.

http://www.standardlesothobank.co.ls/lesotho/Individual/Self-service-banking/ATM-banking -I couldn't get this search to work on a mobile device but Standard Bank actually has the biggest footprint.

The "information" that foreign cards can only be used at ATMs in Maseru seems from a Google search to come from a 2006 Lonely Planet guide. I question whether this would have been accurate even ten years ago; and I very much doubt if it is today.
