We stayed in Foz do Iguacu for 3 nights, booked with G Adventures. We liked the convenience of having everything arranged for us - but, with research, we could have done this on our own.

We explored the falls on the Brazil side one day, and the Argentina side another day. We went early to Argentina so that we were on the first train in the park. That was very worth the effort to wake up early.

We found that there was not a lot to do in Foz do Iguacu in the evenings, other than dinner, of course. We think that we would have preferred to stay on the Argentina side - but I can't say for sure. We had dinner at Churrascuria do Goucho, City Bier and Churrasquito - enjoyed all 3.

Thanks for sharing your report. Was this part of a longer stay in the country? If so, where else did you visit? How was your weather at the falls? We’ll be there in 5 weeks.

Kelly V, we quite liked Iguacu. You're right, there's not a lot to do but we found local markets and performances in a park and wandered around the town looking at the shops etc.

It was part of a longer trip. We were in Patagonia, BA, Colonia del sacremento and toured the Tigre delta. Weather was cloudy with rain one day, the next was sunny. The clouds were a blessing as the heat was intense.

There are other sites to visit in Foz. From Itaipu National Park and hydrogeneration dam (2nd largest in the world. Itaipu has a night light show also.

Buddhist Temple. sky diving, hiking, Lake Itaipu dinner cruise. Tres Frontiers with BR/PY/AR border marker/light night show.

Aqua Park (kids love). Many resorts.

Many say you can see BR in 3 hours, but I believe they have not explore the hiking trails, kayaking, river cruise and other activities in the national park.

The Parque das Aves is a very nice tropical bird park with may animals, reptiles and shade.

We are going to visit Iguazu in two days time but have not booked a hotel yet. We will arrive IGU in the morning and plan to visit the Fall in Brazil side same day and the AR side the next day. Then go back to Brazil, spend the night and fly out to Rio de Janerio midday. Just wonder if your tour did similar schedule and what hotel did you stay in Brazil and if it’s recommended. Thanks a lot.
