Dinner out vs all inclusive at hotel

Hello!

First time trip to Mauritius in Mid April; staying at Sugar Beach Resort. My travel agent advised that there are not many restaurants open for dinner in Flic En Flac and seemed to point to go all inclusive. SInce we are there for 5 nights; I love to explore different restaurants. I quickly skimmed restaurants in town for hours and appears many are open at night although we'd have to taxi to town /back.

Would you suggest to dine out or inclined to stay at the resort for dinner?

Thank you and sorry if I missed the thread on this question.

You have the restaurants to eat at the sister Resort la pirogue also. So if you only have 5 nights you won't be able to eat in all the restaurants on offer at the 2 resorts any way. So my advice is to enjoy the all inclusive you have on offer

Alternatively go half board. So breakfast and dinner are included at your hotel.

Frankly the best restaurants will be the hotel restaurants, The Sugar Beach is on a row of hotel resorts side by side.

I'd do half board ie dinner, bed and breakfast. You can then try the local restaurants for lunch.

We've stayed at the SB next door sister hotel La Pirogue which shares restaurants with SB 8 times and even though we had a car we still booked HB.

AI is not necessary as you can eat lunch out.

Buses stop outside the resort and are frequent during the day.
