No it is not. No government or governmental agency or international health organization is advising against travel to Langkawi. Whatever even raised the question in your mind?

This coronavirus hysteria is really getting out of hand. Follow the news, not your fears. 16 cases in Malaysia as of yesterday. A population of 30 million. Do the math of your chances of being in a situation of true contagion risk.

You could look to see what the Foreign Office are advising about travel as that could have a bearing on your travel insurance.

Isn't it interesting that there are more cases of the virus in the UK, and France (another neighbour of yours) than on Langkawi.

That child came from a flight from China to KLIA to Langkawi where thermal scanning at the airport detected she had fever and was quickly quarantined.

Very unlikely to have spread the virus in Langkawi.

Furthermore there's no cases of human to human spread on the island up till now.

"Only concerned that there was a child diagnosed with the virus on Langkawi..."

A very good example of how we're letting our fears overrule our rational logic. And the comment is not directed personally to the OP since the forum is rampant with similar questions. One case leading people to wonder if it's safe to be on an island with 65,000-75,000 other people. One out of 70,000. 0.0014% of the population.

I was thinking of visiting the UK after we leave KL but I just read they have had 4 cases and most frighteningly there was 1 new case diagnosed yesterday so the disease burden has increased in the UK by 25% in one day!!!! Is it safe for me to go to the UK?
