Day hike from Nara

I'm thinking of doing a day hike from Nara in the first week of April (will already be going to Mount Yoshino and Mount Kongo).

Soni Highlands seems like an interesting option - any advice on whether it's worth going in April?

Any other recommendations?

The most popular months for Soni Highlands are October and November, based on the bar charts here.

However, Jalan recommends Soni Highland as the fourth nature destination in Nara in April. The top three are Mt Wakakusa, Sarusawa Pond, and Mt Miwa.

I just think of Yamanobe no Michi, so-called the oldest road in Japan. That goes through from Nara to Miwa. The part of Tenri to Sakurai is rather popular.

This is a list for mountains in Nara in April. Mt Kongo is at the second. The top is Mt Shakagadake.
