It would be great if any travellers currently on the island could take just a few moments to give an update here on their weather.

This would be helpful to people about to travel and to those considering Mauritius as a possible holiday destination.

All too often posters who have already benefited from forum advice themselves say they will post helpful updates once they arrive, but then we hear nothing from them.

The update thread has been running now for around 8 years but it depends on you sharing your experiences.

Most years we had great input from members, but this year it seems less people can be bothered.

GENERAL SITUATION:

The strong anticyclone to the South of the Mascarenes is still causing moderate and relatively cold trades over our region.

Clouds coming from the Eastern sector continue to influence the local weather.

FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS:

Cloudy periods tonight and tomorrow morning with showers. These showers will be moderate at times.

Fog patches will also be present in some regions.

The minimum temperature will be between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius over the high-grounds and between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius along the coastal regions.

The wind will blow from the East-South-East at about 25 km/h with gusts of the order of 50 km/h, strenghening further in showers.

Sea rough beyond the reefs with waves of the order of 3 metres.

Ventures in the open sea as well as the eastern and southern lagoons are not advised.

Showers are still expected during the night and tomorrow morning, mainly over the Eastern half of the island and over the central plateau.

The minimum temperature will be between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius over the high-grounds and between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius along the coastal regions.

The wind will blow from the Eastern sector at about 20 km/h with peaks of 50 km/h.

Sea rough beyond the reefs with Southerly swells of the order of 3 metres.

Ventures in the open sea as well as in the Eastern and Southern lagoons are not advised.

The state of the sea in the Eastern and Southern lagoons will improve gradually tomorrow.

567. Re: Post your weather updates from September 2022

We have sadly come to the end of our 2 weeks here in Mauritius. The first week we spent at Trou aux Biches and the weather was rather mixed - a lot of cloud, many showers and 2 full days of heavy rain! We did wonder if we would ever return in August - it’s our 5th time at this time of year. Our second week however (Lux Grand Gaube but only a little way up the coast) we have had beautiful blue skies nearly every day, with just the odd shower at night. It has been hot throughout, and even warmer in the evenings than I remember it. We would definitely return in winter again - but only to the west or north.
