We will be in the northern islands (staying in Klaksvik) in early June and would like to experience a Heimablidni meal. We are doing that earlier near Torshavn but would like to do it again in the northern islands. A search of the forum produced one suggestion on Eysteroy but the host is on maternity leave when we are there. This seems like a wonderful cultural experience. Can you help?

Yes, I did. In fact, I have a booking at Anna and Oli's near Torshavn but all others were a dead end (as to north islands). I have written to my b&b hosts in Klaksvik and am awaiting a response from them. Hopefully, they will have local contacts that are not advertised.

You couod try. But I'd wouldn't count on it. It alrwady is very much against Northern European culture to invite someone you don't know into your house. On a small population of an already rather tight knit society chances aren't that high.

Maybe one of the locals here will drop by and know more.

Thanks for the reply, Lionheart2304. I'll be sensitive to that. I certainly don't want to be pushy. And, if we do get invited into a home, we will behave a we would expect guests to be.
