Hi fellow travelers,
I'm a 33 year old female and will be traveling in Crete solo in May. I plan to take the bus from Chania to Heraklion at some point; is it safe to take a late bus (7.30pm) and arrive at Heraklion around 10.30pm? My hotel at Heraklion is a 6 min walk from the bus station.
Any input would be appreciated.

I would not be the least concerned about taking an evening bus anywhere on Crete. It's always good to have consulted a map or Google earth street view before you go so you have a good idea of the route you'll need to take from the bus station to your accommodation.
Edited: 18 March 2018, 08:06Generally speaking heraklion is a safe place and there are a lot of people walking in the streets at that time so I think you will feel very safe. But may I ask in which area or hotel you are staying?
I'll be staying in Hotel Irini which is a 6 min walk from the bus station. Thanks.
