Travelling to Greece

Travelling to Greece

We will be travelling to Greece and Egypt in April 2019 and are constrained by time. We will have 6 days (5 nights) in Greece and about the same time in Egypt.

How does anyone recommend splitting time between Athens, Santorini, Mykonos (is Mykonos a must see?) in Greece?

And any recommendations on splitting time between Cairo, Luxor and Alexandria

Thanks in advance!

First you don't have 6 days but only 4 full days. Your day of arrival and day of departure do not really count. In addition you need to travel within those 4 days.

Santorini first and then Athens

This is the ATHENS forum in GREECE friend.

How in the world could we answer your question?

As others have said you don’t have much time. Do Santorini then back to Athens.

Regarding the Egypt section of your trip, this is the Greece forum so you need to ask that question in the Egypt forum.

Alternatively why not spend the whole of your holiday in Greece and skip Egypt entirely this time?

Greece has so much to see, as does Egypt. Do one country on this trip, and another country next time.

I have been in both Athens and Cairo this Summer. With regards Cairo, unless you are desperate to visit the Pyramids, I would skip it - far too busy. Takes forever to get from A-B due to the sheer volume of cars on the roads and there are NO traffic lights. Go to either Alexandra which is slightly cooler, less touristic and not as Egyptian as other places you mentioned. Luxor for more historic sights but extremely hot. Have been to all 3 but the other 2 some years ago.

I too would skip Egypt and spend the entire time in Athens plus islands.
