Not used them but they are not one of the Scam companies (Goldcar, Europcar, Interrent, Orlando etc). However, their standard insurance cover is NOT fully inclusive so it may be cheaper once you have factored in the Super CDW purchase to go with Cicar who are fully inclusive.

Top Car terms state (from their web site);

The CDW insurance included in our rates does not cover damage to rims and tires, tire flats, damages done to the underneath of the car, loss or damage to keys and remote-control devices, damages caused by filling the tank with wrong fuel or break of glasses and wing mirrors. With the CDW insurance service you would be agreeing in requesting an excess that may vary depending on the vehicle hired. These excess’ expenses would be between 500€ and 800€. Everything that is not covered by the CDW, including the excess, can be covered by purchasing our Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW).

I can really recommend Auto Isla Verde - I've used them over a dozen times and one of the benefits is that they are not as well known as Cicar or Pluscar so the collection queues are generally better or no queue at all. Insurance included although there are probably similar exclusions. If you don't take the vehicle off road then you're not as likely to be stung by those exceptions!

The issue with Topcar is not so much the exceptions, its the fact that you are liable for the first 500€ to 800€ of damage unless you buy the extra SCDW policy.

Hi.Have used Topcar three times in La Palma and found them to be very good.They are from what I understand an off shoot of Autoriesen which run on the other Canary Islands. I cover the insurance excess by taking a policy out in the UK that covers having to pay the additional charges the hire companies try to sell you.
