we're going to stay in cape town for a couple of days and we'd like to go to kommettjie for horse riding. Do you know if there is any pubblic transport to reach this villagge? We've checked on the interner but didn't find any bus. Do we need to hire a car?

You should rent a car or take return transport from Cape Town.

You take a train to Fish Hoek and a Taxi from the station to Kommetjie.

And also with the rental, if you feel like adding something for the day, then you will have the luxury of doing that on your own and not depend on the expenses for a taxi or extra travel costs.

It seems that hiring a car is definitely the best option.
Getting to Kommetjie by pubblic transport seems a bit too long and difficult since we won't have much time.
