I had a great cheese burger here. This is a casual resturant with an owner who will come and greet you and friendly staff. We were told by our guest lodge that the kitchen closed at 6.30 and that it would be a good idea...to get there by 5.30. It was also the only resturant open in Darling on a Monday night!More

When my wife and I stayed in Darling, this became our local hangout. The service is great and owners very accommodating. Pizza was delicious. Loved the local vibe. Got to know the locals watching rugby (SA vs NZ) and it was such fun. Was a...mixed bunch watching but there was no racism no ugliness. Just South Africans enjoying each other. This place made our trip to Darling so memorable. Thank you.More

Since I hate giving bad reviews, let me start with caveat: My visit was on a Sunday night of a long weekend and Café Mosaic was the only place open in Darling. I appreciate everyone working there for this and left a 25% tip (if...somewhat accidentally). To the review: As a restaurant prizing itself on its pizzas, it is a dismal failure. I have never seen so much oily substance on top of a pizza before - possibly because of the tasteless cheese. The locally-sourced salami did nothing to improve this cheese-fest. To make things worse, all I smelt was smoke coming from other patrons - with no regard for non-smokers. I understand that Café Mosaic is a local hang-out. As visitor I did not feel welcome and I will not be back.More

We recently took friends to Cafe Mosaic in Darling for the Thursday night pizza special. Although the pizzas are very good and the staff efficient, the owner's attitude leaves a lot to be desired. She sits smoking with her friends all night instead of paying...attention to the customers. The smoking area is not properly closed off either, as determined by law. One of our friends has been in the wine industry for many years and mentioned in a friendly manner to the owner that their corkage fee is excessive. She had quite some attitude about this and told him it should be even higher because she sells local wines. Apart from the wine list being short and not containing all the local wines (the JC le Roux on there is not local), the corkage remains excessive and the attitude of the owner such that we will not be going back there. There are far better restaurants in Darling, which we will support in future.More

We arrived at Cafe Mosaic with VERY hungry tummies only to find that the power was out throughout the village. Although worried, the staff had made a plan and were serving a lot of their dishes, just couldn't serve fries. We had to wait a...while for our food - but it was expected with the power being out and then having to make other arrangements for their customers - when the food came it was delicious. We all ordered burgers and cleaned our plates! They were very apologetic about the power being off and not being able to serve us chips and that the aircon wasn't working - how great is that! The food is very reasonably priced and their pizzas really looked good.More

Unpretentiousness, laid back place. Service was very friendly and efficient. We were seated immediately and order was taken. They were very accommodating about substituting avocado for cheese on my friends pizza as he does not eat dairy products. Pizzas arrived in good time and were...very tasty.More

no, no, no..... will not eat there again. Burger patties served were made from soya & not even real beef. Not a pleasant atmosphere & this restaurant needs new furniture & to be painted.
