We visited the museum as well as the coffee shop. For those who love satire it is definitely a must! I smiled and sometimes laughed out loud all throughout the museum. It really houses a very impressive collection of humorous controversy, holding up a mirror...for political arena past and present. The coffee shop is a delight and we had freshly made koeksisters and chocolate cake, both to die for, with a delicious home made lemonade and excellent service. A very enjoyable experience!More

Delicious coffee and pancakes at Evitas cafe and a nostalgic walk through the museum. Well organized museum will take you back to apartheid SA. Bookshop worth a look too.

This venue, should be a must visit on everyone’s schedule. Whether it is to watch the excellent Pieter Dirk Uys beguiling the nation through the eyes of Evita, or enjoying a lovely lunch or even just tea with friends. The very friendly staff and manager...are very attentive and will ensure that you are comfortable and well looked after during your visit. After a superb show, we enjoyed a lovely lunch consisting of a Bobotie Pie and a Spicy Toasted Sandwich. The Bobotie pie, made with home-made pastry, was jam packed with an aromatic bobotie filling which was very flavourful and filling. This was served with a freshly made portion of chips, crispy as ordered. The Spicy Toasted Sandwich was made with their home-made bread (a great treat) and the mince filling offered lovely notes of cloves and spices – equally aromatic and tasty. This was served with a fresh salad (topped with a quail egg – my favourite!). We had such a wonderful time talking to the ladies serving us as well as the Manager that we ended up ordering some pancakes for dessert. One plate of traditional pancakes served with sugar and cinnamon and the other plate of pancakes made in a Banoffee Pie style with sliced up banana and caramel. The perfect light deserts for a wonderful lunch and show.More

We had lunch here after visiting the museum and book shop. Pieter-Dirk Uys has been such a part of our history that is was interesting to wander round and see the pictures. The book shop is run by a wonderfully well-read woman who gave us...some great recommendations. We had a light lunch in the resturant - very nice - while watching the rusks bake!More

Like most people we wanted to get out and took a drive to visit Darling and went to Evita se Peron for a browse. We went into the main shop on the “Peron” to ask the attending English speaking woman about the program planned for...Pieter Dirk Uys. If you think that the “Cruella de Ville” is something to be scared of, please do not visit this place. In a very abrupt manner she asked me what I wanted and then dismissed me. We try so hard to support local communities. We immediately left and advised our family to that we will not meet them in Darling.More

A must see at the museum. So much history and collection of past political happenings. We had very nice breakfast, although we had to wait a bit.

Apologies for the very late reply. The show does have a fair amount of Afrikaans but they do vary and take a comedic view on global and local politics. We are English speaking and enjoyed the show thoroughly.
