The restaurant was clean, the staff were friendly, the food was very disappointing. The waitress said the menus needed changing and there was a limited choice available. Fair enough, we all know it’s been a difficult year but my pasta dish was bland and tasteless....The whole experience was completely underwhelming.More

We love our Sunday road trips, looking for places to eat, in the little towns we pass through. We also love Italian cuisine. So finding this authentic Italian restaurant made me happy, especially knowing how difficult it is for small restaurants to survive these days....The menu is not extensive, but have enough variety to not feel overwhelmed with choices. We all had different starters and mains and non of us were disappointed. The food was fresh and full of flavor - delizioso. We left completely satisfied. I recommend this little restaurant to passersby and will definitely make it a lunch (or breakfast) stop on our next road trip in that direction. Ciao DarlingMore

We had lunch at Ciao Darling on our way through to Devon valley. My husband had steak - how amazing it looked! Done to perfection. I had a pasta and it was lovely. The owner is a bundle of joy. Staff are professional. Lovely setting...and conveniently placed.More

We ate here in 2019 when the restaurant was still situated in an old house. Stunning. We were accompanied by our American friends and we were served by die owner/chef's daughter and the food was authentic Italian. The restaurant had now moved to a different...premises and so did the quality of the food. From authentic Italian to mediocrity. We sat on the patio with a jungle gym right in front of us, obscuring the view. The waiter was wearing baggy tracksuit pants. Really? We both ordered fettuccine Puttanesca. Any lover if Italian fare would know that the ingredients are anchovy, garlic, chilli and caper. The pasta was overcooked, no hint of anchovy, chilli or garlic. We spoke to the owner who apologized that clients order the dish for their KIDS and that is why they hold back on the garlic, chilli and anchovy...... as a norm....Really? Which person orders any dish with these ingredients if they don't like any of it, let alone for a kid? Because i am the adult who understands what i like and what not, must be offered a mediocre meal, because parents sometimes order the meal for kids and therefore they make it as bland as possible with loads with tomato cubes and olive slices. We were offered a fresh plate with chilli on the side. The chilli made it better but still not much garlic or anchovy. We ate and left, foreverMore

Stopped at Ciao for lunch and ended up with a late breakfast. Nothing wrong with the food but sat for over 1 hour waiting for it. No apology, no heads up that the kitchen was battling, just waiting. As we left we heard the staff...telling arrivals that the kitchen was overloaded and the wait would be 45minutes. 1 hour for bacon and eggs. Really!More

I have been to the restaurant a few times already and have tried almost everything. Their homemade pasta is out of this world and the pizza is amazing! They do have a gluten free pasta option which is also delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable...and I love the outside area and the bar area is always festive. Staff are extremely friendly and service is great. Cannot wait to go back again :)More

Cute hidden little gem in darling, atmosphere is cozy, a lovely owner who is very attentive, old school Italian cooking, I met the chef he’s Italian and passionate about the food, I had the salmon fettuccine pasta which was amazing and highly recommend. You can...taste it’s fresh home made pasta which really makes a massive difference in today’s restaurant market The price is so reasonable and far cheaper than mainstream franchise restaurant. It also has a select number of dishes which really makes you know that then food is fresh Had a taste of the pizzas and one of my best pizza of all time you can build your own pizza which is amazing! Really is worth a tripMore

Opened late 2019. Limited menu, but based on freshly made pasta and everything made with care and attention. Gluten free options also. Owner/chef pops out to check all is well with all the food regularly which is charming. Prompt friendly service and very realistic prices....Lacking a little in ambience but delicious fresh Italian food and a very welcoming atmosphere.More
