Mac Banana, Port Edward - Menu, Prices & Restaurant Reviews

If expecting a farmstall with some added extras, then five stars would be appropriate. If expecting a place that will blow you away and worth planning your holiday around, 1 star would suffice. Our experience was average. It was a rainy day so it was...full quite early. We were there by 8h30 and the parking lot was already fairly full, but at least we did not have to wait in line for restaurant seating etc. As the menu advises that there is an expected 45 minute wait in season, we ordered banana loaf as it is pre-made. The banana loaf, 2 coffees and a bottle of water still took 20 minutes to bring to the table. It was excellent though. When we left the restaurant there was probably a 30 minute wait just to get a table, and then 45 minutes to get your food (per the menu). Underwhelmed by the farmyard. The fruit and vegetable selection in the store is probably the best on this part of the coast in December. The jams in the store are exceptional. Overall, if you go to Mac Banana with high expectations, you will be disappointed, and if you go expecting a farmstall, this place will blow you away.More

The Rustic Yard is Best

As you drive in - On the far left of Mac Banana you will find "The Rustic Yard" restaurant and shop. Their curry is well worth it as well as anything else on the menu. And you might as well support the little shop as...well, where we bought a Cappuccino Set, which was a 'must buy' after having a cappuccino in the Restaurant from those lovely tin cups.More

Pancacks pre-made and possibly microwaved before serving - hardened as eating - filling, a mush of overcooked pre-cooked bacon and bananas, disgusting! Food is seriously revolting! Waste of money.

Best pancakes ever

A must-stop when on the south coast! We loved the pancakes and the cuppachinos were lovely! Our teenagers loved the zip-line rides!

Fantastic stop- tea garden and facilities

Why have we not found this spot before. Fantastic facility- gardens are immaculate, facilities in general are really tops. Well worth the stop.

Overrated overpriced and not even a pancake

Overpriced and overrated Pan c makes was very thick and filling was measly and inky in middle of the pancake wrap. And worst of allthe ..u had to pay extra for ice cream scoop not eveb full cream ice cream No sauces accompanied the desert...even that was at an extra cost At R86 for a pancake and ice cream a real disappointment Banana bread slices ... awful...More

The poor animals

Although the other entertainment opportunities are really good the animal farm needs to be closed or updated the conditions the animals are living in is awful. The donkeys are together in a small enclosure with a cement floor and the pony is in a similar...enclosure, the sheep is clearly sick ... something please need to be done about thisMore

Great Saturday outing

Had a blast at the Zipline Adventure course R275pp. It's a lot and you must be brave it tests you really. My husband and I didn't finish the course but son did it was just so hot. So maybe if you go on a cooler...day you will enjoy it more. The Quad bikes is ridiculously expensive at R395 pp(even kids) and kids under 12yrs aren't allowed to ride on their own they can only be a passenger to an adult the kid pays R99. Overall great place to spend the day you wont regret paying for the Zipline. Didn't buy or eat there. A very big thank you to our instructor Mhlengi he was super friendly, professional and made it much more easier.More

Lovely setting between trees. Pancakes were good and the fillings even better! My son loved the chocolate /caramel and mint Pancake!
