It's been a couple of years since I ate at cape town fish market outlet but it appears to compare to other's I have eaten at. Great location right on forodhani gardens with a wrap around dining deck to take advantage of Zanzibar s spectacular sunsets. Friendly and smiling hostess meets you at the entrance and escorts you to a table.
Sanitizer spray available on each table and at the door should you require. The menu has a heavy focus on fish and seafood items as would be expected in a restaurant of this type however there are a few non fish items on the menu too.
However if in a seafood restaurant, eat what they specialize in. There's an extensive sushi selection as well as some other Small bites items.
I opted for The Tuna carpacio to start with which was fresh and thickly sliced though seared on the outside. Topped with tempura crumbs which added a slightly sweet crispy texture to each bite. Finished with a sweet thick sauce tasting similar to BBQ sauce. Topped with some fresh chili. Was a good dish.
For a main course I chose traditional batter fish and chips which came on a wooden board and wrapped in News paper, English pub style. The fish fillet was perhaps Just a little undercooked so perhaps indicate more crispy done if you prefer a drier piece of fish. Taste was good though. Tartare sauce perhaps a little watery than one would expect. On the whole it was a good time out
It gets busy quickly so advisable to book a table in advance if you can especially over peak dining periods.

Visited here for our first lunch in stone town. It’s right on the front so lovely view and perfect place to go for a nice lunch or a drinks break!
The cocktails were probably the best I’ve had! So refreshing.
The food was delicious!
Service is a little slow so don’t go if you’re in a rush but just go and enjoy a few drinks and some nice food.
Good spot for sushi and seafood lovers but a menu that suits all!

Obviously a stunning location over the water, quick, friendly and attentive staff. Juice was good, the view over the harbor very picturesque. The squid appetizer was prized slightly above normal TZ price level but when I got my 4 squids I got the Business plan. Like so many other "services" on the Island, this is one more stretching the limits and rather walk away with 1 $ more than winning a customer.

I visited the restaurant a few times over the past couple of weeks and have found it to be consistently pleasant. Afternoons are quieter and great for meetings. Sunset to late evenings are lively and towards the weekend there is live music. I really enjoyed watching the surrounding ocean life while The Islanders performed this past Sunday.

Cape Town Fish Market is a cut above many other Zanzibar restaurants both in quality and price, but is good for s special night out or last night splurge. The cocktails are varied and tasty, the range of dishes is excellent - fish-oriented but including plenty of meat and vegetable options - and everything was served promptly and professionally. The staff were very attentive and pleasant which gave eating here thoroughly enjoyable. Certainly recommended.

This place is the best place to enjoy your lunch and a drink in a hot day in the Zanzibar City. There is a sea breeze all the time, so it is very comfortable to sit there and enjoy the beautiful sea view while you’re eating. The food was very good and fresh – especially the Poke bowl and pastas. The drinks were also prepared properly. We were surprised that this was not that expensive place like we expected. Service was good – especially from the ladies. Make sure that your tip goes to the right person/s. We had a very good service from one of the ladies and after we asked her the bill, the male colleague came to give it to us. We asked where our waitress is and his answer was ‘to be honest, she asked me to come to you’. Of course, we didn’t believe it and gave no tip for this man. Luckily, we found the waitress that was sent away by this male colleague and gave the tip to her. A bit annoying to see this kind of behaviour. Anyway, we really enjoyed to eat and drink at this restaurant and hope the management will do something about the issue mentioned...

Absolutely love this place, found the food to be really good and just how we like it. It is a little bit pricier than other places around but I think it’s really worth it. Actually visited this place 3 times within a week we loved it so much.
Only 1 negative is that the staff are on “island time”, they don’t seem to be in any rush, so you do have to be patient. 2 times we went, we ordered starters and main course which the waitress repeated back to us however starters seemed to have been forgotten on both visits which is very strange. Nevertheless could just have been lost in translation.
We having our last dinner in Zanzibar there tonight and really looking forward to it. Hopefully the starters come this time!

I came today for breakfast and ordered my favourote sandwich with salmon and creamy cheese that supposed to be as usually Philadelphia cheese or smth similar as usually. Before it was amazing and this morning I was dreaming to come to Cape Town to have my brekfast. As a result I received a sandwich with salmon and cheeped orange cheese. I had to return the dish to change. The waiter even didn’t serve cutlery. Even for the waiter to give the order we had to wait around 15 min. Everything looks like nobody cares. Waiters walking without interest, they start to smile only when feel that the client is already fed up. All in all is very bad experience. Before was much better.

First time visiting the restaurant but probably will be the last time. Food wasn't that bad service was sooo poor the waiter's/waitress should be attentive and concerned to all type of customers as we all pay for the services but only significant others gets to be treated well. Other than the poor service restaurant is clean view is beautiful.

On the sea you can't get any more, at the end of the promenade, an evocative place, a big confortable terrace from which to observe the return of the small fishing boats with their retinue of seagulls, and in the distance the comings and goings of ferries and commercial vessels. And, of course, enjoy good typical cuisine. Plenty of appetizers, hot and cold, raw and cooked. On the raw side: tuna, swordfish, sea bass, amberjack, scampi and small lobsters, sushi and sashimi in all ways . On the cooked side: Catalan-style lobsters, unfortunately also innocent shrimps but luckily there are alternatives, among them: sauteed or au gratin mussels, very good. Squid in all sauces. Second chapter: fish based on arrivals (sea bass, turbot, redfish, monkfish, sole) and in various ways (oven, grill, stew). It seems to me that the concentrate of marinara Zanzibar lies in three dishes, two more demanding one less. The least demanding is the shrimp and squid skewers, with their breading. It can become more challenging because you would never finish eating them, a bit like what happens with cherries, but in the end you just need to know how to settle. Fried is somewhere in between. The grill dish is truly impressive and perhaps one dish would be enough to satisfy two diners, given the variety and abundance. Excellent wines, good desserts, even an espresso coffee at an Italian level, the bill is right and in proportion to what you eat and drink, the service is driven by the manager Japhet in a very professional way, in short, you have to be satisfied, in fact you go away reluctantly. And you will return, as infact I did.

Over prices poor service staff attitude like we don’t care wake up guys
1. Tables dirty no one cared to clean
2. Draft Kilimanjaro beer not fresh and flat
3. Waited someone to come and take order waited like 20 minutes.
4. Food served without plates and cutleries
5. Plates and cutleries arrived dumped on table and by the time it came food got cold.
6. Prawns pop corn salty
7. Table Pepper and salt container sticky
8. Table Tissue holder had no tissues
9. Drinks got finished we had to called them to get replace.
10. Too many staff but busy talking to each other noisy
I can go on and on shame on you guys

My daughter and I ordered a chicken salad and specifically asked for avocado NOT to be added as she is allergic to it. The salad came with A LOT of AVOCADO!! We reminded the waiter what we asked for, he went to the kitchen and got rid of the avocado in the same salad and brought it back with few pieces remaining in the middle!!! We complained once again and another salad was brought in a small plate which was not the right portion only to find some tomatoes in that salad were OFF!!! To make matters worse the supervisor came to us and said "what do you want me to do?" Now this place is not CHEAP to eat, but food can be OFF and service is really BAD, it seems the staff have no clue as to what they are doing, it ruined our whole evening so before going to Cape Town Fish Market in Zanzibar think twice and don't expect too much. We even ended up paying for the salad by the way!!!

Firstly the setting here is very idyllic.The open expansive breezy terrace looks out on the comings and goings of traditional dhows and ferry boats.
There is a friendly welcome and staff are very professional efficient and engaging.
Their fish and chips ticks all the boxes.The fish was succulent and flavoursome with a light batter which adhered to the fish - all the telltale signs of its freshness.It was delicious beyond measure with accompanying crispy hand cut fries.
It was that good I returned a second time the next day.I did not need to be tempted with the rest of the menu which had wide ranging seafood choices.
The aperol spritz was as good as you would get anywhere in the world and at a very reasonable price of just over US$5.

A real Tanzanian fast food, you haven't finished the starter that the 2nd course is there..!! In addition they do not understand why you do not want it right away.
Correct dishes, expensive for the country, lukewarm ... on the other hand they are very good for making you consume alcoholic drinks (so expensive)

After spending the morning exploring Stonetown we were on the hunt for a lunch place and came upon this restaurant quite by accident when walking along the water.
The location is absolutely great - there are great views towards town, along the beach and especially towards the water. There's also plenty of options to sit if you'd like to be in the sun or rather under the cover of the roof.
I was a bit worried as there were so many fish items on the menu and most of my family are non-fish-eaters, but everyone found something without issues. I personally had the poke bowl, which was truly one of the best ones I've ever had. Two others from our party had burgers and both said they were excellent. Fourth member of our party had a pasta and that was also good.
Even though there were quite a lot of customers around lunch time the service was great. We were seated quickly and our drinks came fast. Food was also served relatively quickly, as well the bill brought.
Absolutely no complaints and highly recommend this restaurant!
