Avocado bread very disappointing. Bread was totally hard and avocado tasted only line lemon. I also ordered a lemon ice tea and they brought me a hot tea and a glass of ice cubes and said you can pour it over. My bf ordered the...waffle and mango juice without sugar - those two were all very tasty tough.More

That’s my second time I tried this hotel and hated their attitude. Last time I had an emergency and wanted to use WC (I wasn’t their customer and just passing their street) and they brought me to CEO to ask for it. And he explained...me how impossible it is and how much would it cost for them if they allowed everybody to go to toilet in their hotel. I was shocked and I didn’t go for long time to the hotel. But today, I felt dizzy and that was the closest one to my way and stopped by to drink something. I ordered cheesecake and juice, and later cappuccino. But they came to tell me, I shouldn’t lay down my legs while I sit on their sofa. (I was the only customer) I told that I am pregnant and need to rest a bit. They told its not allowed in their restaurant to spend time so long and I just ordered a coke and sit for hours. I haven’t drunken coke from 20 years. I ordered deserts and drinks which was costing same price to a lunch and that’s very apparent that I am pregnant with difficulties. But they told that’s not allowed to keep staying there. And I told it’s enough and left the hotel with a second big disappointment. I am an expat in this island and have never seen such rude behaviors anywhere else. They never got the hospitality of Zanzibar and trying to make business with zero respect to customers. I am really feeling still so upset and sad...More

Set on a quiet, clean side street close to the Fort, this shop is a real gem! Very friendly staff, great coffee and all for an admirable cause: helping Zanzibar’s orphans. We will be back if we can!

Located in the heart of Stone Town, Cafe Africa offers a really nice place to relax and get a cup of coffee. Love the design and the handmade souvenirs, as well as their benevolent purpose to help the orphans. We decided to drop by due...to the rain and ended up befriending the amazing people there (Ramadhan, Lydia, and Ayisah).More
