The restaurant is well known to locals but it's difficult to casually find it because it seems more a villa than a restaurant. They are a fishermen family, offering a daily menu based on local catches. Basically a fully fish based two set entry, a...main coursehas been and a second one. Dessert is an extra. The location has a very nice outside seating under the trees. Our meal has been filetti di muggine gratinati con salsa di yogurt and peperoni con salsa di acciughe as entry, Spaghetti con Sarde as main and a dessert. Everything tasty, well presented and at a very good quality/price. Very friendly people and good wine and beer choicesMore
Fixed menu, but everything is locally caught and produced. Great meal. Friendly and good service. Evening meal was around 30 euros each plus wine. Dishes are mainly fish and seafood reflecting location. Recommend if in area.
The title is a rather direct translation from a dutch saying, and it applies to this place. The menu is made up from what was caught at sea that day. And I can tell you, there is some good stuff out there at sea, because...the dishes are lovely. Normally you pay 30 euro per person, but you get at least one starter (we had 2), I think we had 2 main dishes as well, dessert and finally a caffè to finish it of. So, all is inclusive, except for the drinks you order. We had a nice bottle of white wine, so we were good to 'survive' these courses. A lovely experience, friendly staff that took the time to explain the concept to us non-locals. The ambience is nice too with a lot of noisy italians around you, but that's how these things go. If you like seafood, you need to go here for sure.More
Very good antipasti. The pasta could be better. The fish could be added lemon juice to have better taste. Took relatively long between courses.
Now this is different. With most restaurant menus offering starter, primi, and secondi courses, tourists are tempted with large portions of everything. Here there's no written menu - basically they tell you what you're getting and the starter and primi are of manageable proportions, with...a explanation of the choice of main course fish (whatever they caught that day). A half litre of wine for 5 Euro, and the 3 course menu is still only 30 Euro each. Service seemed a bit slow at times, but we didn't expect to rush. We only ate there the once during our stay in Arenzano (having to reserve in advance) but, now we know how it works, it would be well worth a return visit, and should be a must for anyone staying in the town.More
If you’re looking for authentic Italian cooking, that’s the place. Fish from the fishermen. Little choice, and meals mastered like “la Nonna”. Price is good. You need to reserve though. The place is packed by locals in the evenings.
The restaurant offers a menu with good fish dishes for a fair price and good service. Small scale as there have been only three tables which gives a feeling of a personal experience.
A wonderful place that serves a Chef's Choice menu consisting of the days catch. The complete menu is €30, or €10 per dish (€5 for dessert). Though our ambition was the full menu, we had to skip the secondi piatti and go directly to the...dessert, as we were so full. The antipasti consisted of 3 small dishes, one of those was the palamita - a relative of tuna and mackerel. The fish was cooked with tomatoes, and the flavour was well-balanced. Amazing what they created with such a "simple" dish. I wouldn't have minded seconds or even thirds of this. When walking around my friend and I had talked about what to get - fish or pasta. The primi was spaghetti with fish and tomatoes. Spot on for what we wanted. The only minus was our wine (good in itself, but we didn't think it did the fish justice). When mentioning this, the wine was promptly replaced with another. Amazing service from a wonderful staff. All in all, I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in town.More
Nice place run by the fisherman association, they serve whatever they caught that day. If you are picky about your food this place is not for you as the menu is very limited. If you are not then it is an experience well worth it...in quality and priceMore
Nice place directly located in the port, very friendly staff and delicious products, the fried seafood is fantastic. Prices are a little higher than downtown. Atmosphere is cozy and "fisherman" style. A nice place especially for divers as located close to the centers.
We arrived early, but they were already fully booked for the evening. As far as I could tell there is no indoor seating. We told the young man that it was our honeymoon and he made a table for us. We were so happy we...didn't care that we weren't on the patio but just off-size on the gravel. Who cares? It's an adventure!!!! This the kind of place I think you either love it or hate it. There's no menu, there's just whatever is fresh caught and prepared in the kitchen that day for a fixed price that includes a bottle of wine and desert. It's not "cheap" but it's not going to break the bank either. And the service is very good, they just keep bringing out plates of food. If you don't like seafood, if you're a fussy eater, if you're gluten intolerant, if you hate experiencing new and unexpected things, just go up the road and get a pizza. But if you want an exquisite, uniquely Mediterranean meal heavy on the seafood, this place could be your dream destination as it was ours. We had pasta with seafood and a light sauce of garlic, olive oil and some tomato, a basket of little deep fried fishes. Fishy fries. Some smelt but a mixed variety of tiny crunchy fishes, heads tails, bones and all. We had a delightful bottle of local wine. Anyway, we loved the whole experience. It was one of our top 5 meals on our honeymoon.More
In a nice location, the place is not one of the many "tourists traps" you can often find on the Riviera Ligure, were you eat frozen fish at very high prices. This place offers only very fresh local fish from the local fishermen, mainly caught...the same day that is served to you. The menu is well balanced and it's almost everyday different and it depends to what the fishermen caught. We've eaten three different starters, one pasta and another course [everything made with fish] and we paid 25€, wine and dessert included. The food was very good, I particularly enjoyed the "Melanzane alla Parmigiana with Swordfish" [one of the three starters]. Definitely a place where I'll go again, highly suggested!More
You eat the fish that the boat catches each day. Just a couple of choices. Better to book. Friendly service and good value for money (all inclusive price).
This restaurant is run by fishermen, hence, there is no menu. You get what's been caught on that day. The whole arrangement costs EUR 30,- at the time of writing and includes 4 courses - antipasti, first course (normally pasta), second course - fish and...a dessert. You can't bail out on the price even if you refuse the courses, but be prepared to eat a LOT and very tasty :)More
