What a gem of a restaurant. You enter and then go down stairs to a large cave which is beautifully lit. A large hole in the roof of the cave allows a view of the stars. Super attentive waiteress and service. The food was high...quality and well presented. A very relaxed vibe and the flambéed mango done at the table was gorgeous. A lovely romantic evening and for the setting and the quality and the service a very reasonable price.More

Ali Barbour's Cave restaurant must be one of the most spectacular settings to eat in in Kenya but.....our dinner last night was mostly awful...Starting from the pick up service that never arrived, to the front office rudely telling us to wait as he had mixed...our party booking with another's....The seafood pasta we ordered looked Iike the product if school children learning to make pasta for the first time in a Home Economics class, short, fat and doughy...The starters were ok including sailfish, seafood pate and deep fried camembert. The only really decent dish we had was crepe suzettes...More

We had gone to celebrate my son’s birthday He had been arranging for it for the past two weeks with the management On arrival we were informed that about a third of the menu was unavailable Fine On ordering we had instructed the waiter that...we were strict vegetarians When the food came one of the dishes had the smell of sea food and rightfully there were pieces of sea meat in the food On complaining to the manager we received a simple sorry and the billMore

Place itself is amazing in terms of location and atmosphere. However, food (quality/taste) is average. Also price level there is high. So basically you pay quite high price for atmosphere, but not for food quality. If you want to enjoy tasty and not overpriced meal,...then I would recommend skip this place.More

The restaurant renders great ambience. For a restaurant that offers fine dining, the food was underwhelming. Several of the options on the menu were not available as listed and customer service was substandard. My party of 6 did not have a good experience as we...had expected and felt that this was a missed opportunity for return business. Initially I thought perhaps our experience was an off night and provided a text feedback to the restaurant and no one bothered to acknowledge my feedback.More

Right off the bat I'll say they need a vegetarian option on the menu - hence my four star rating. I am a flexible vegetarian so I made it work. This is a really neat place to dine. The atmosphere is awesome, very romantic and...intimate. The food was quite delicious, the wine list was good and the service was professional. We came during the low season and every table was booked, but the bar was empty. I imagine during high season the bar is a pretty neat place to hang out. Some of these uniqe places can be gimiky and cheap but this is a really good restaurant with a swanky cave around it. I will be recommending it to others. A particular hilight was the crepes suzzette.More

No. It's a restaurant though there are many options along the main Diani road. And since they pick you up from and drop your back at your hotel/residence, it all works out fine.
