My wife and I are habitual road-trippers. We’re from Cape Town, our first time in Clarence. When we come across a restaurant that leaves favourable impressions after several of hours travelling, we feel blessed.
Amigos is such a restaurant. We stumbled over its doorstep by chance on our way to Golden Gate National Park.
Dave, the owner is a wonderful and genuine host who made us feel welcome (considering I’m an introvert!), lovely ambiance with beautiful views over the tree tops, live chilled-out music (we visited Amigos on a Sunday; played excellent covers), tasty dishes at unbeatable prices (my wife had nachos, I had a WOW rump and an excellent take away burger at a quality you can’t get anywhere else at the price, some wine and really friendly staff!
I recommend Amigos to everyone! This place is unmatched!!!! Please test my word and leave comments of your experience to my post!
P.S. I just wish this place was closer to home in Rooiels!!!!!

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool and staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, some mexican classics and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.

Do yourself a favour and visit this lovely restaurant in Clarens. The service is unmatched. The food at Amigo’s is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can choose among many menu options, although we always seem to choose the steak or burgers. The owner Dave is very friendly with the guests and always takes care to offer the best quality and efficient service to ensure an unforgettable experience! We highly recommend Amigo’s. Best food in the area!! Highly recommend!

Dave, the owner, is a LEGEND. Sees to his guests and ensures they are comfortable at all times. We came on a very cold night and he ensured we had blankets to keep us warm, and that was just the start of the evening. What followed was very flavourful food. The Amigos burger was exactly what you wanted to see when you're hungry and was brilliant. The nachos was packed with flavour and one of the best I had so far. All in all, a very cosy, welcoming and friendly place to enjoy good meal with a legendary owner.

We discovered this jewel in Clarens and it just turned out to be our best experience in Clarens. We have visited Clarens many times but only now discovered this spot. It is nestled between lovely little shops and an adventure place and makes it a great place to keep kids busy and entertained. But the best part is how such great food is complimented with a warm and friendly vibe. The atmosphere is created with live music and once you sit down you don't want to leave. The steak is out of this world and it is really evident that it is not an average steak house. All round an unforgettable experience.

Dave has left the building. Taco’s and Nacho’s were terrible, served ice cold with congealed cheese. The manager was nowhere to be seen. The waiters were amazing though and tried their best but were let down by the kitchen staff.
Burgers and steak were good but don’t expect Mexican food

Arriving at this establishment to celebrate a birthday, we were met by the owner who claims they make the best steaks in town. Ordering our steaks medium (no T bone steaks were available) it arrived after 45 minutes well done! Returning both steaks, the replacement ones were even worse. It was an unsatisfactory experience and hugely disappointing which spoiled the evening.

We had a fantastic dinner at Amigo’s. They make an amazing rump steak with homemade chips and the tastiest basting on the rump. We also had nachos which were excellent. The banana milkshakes are heavenly. Service was excellent and we were welcomed by the owner, Dave. This morning we went for breakfast and loved it. Highly recommended and their meals are well priced. We are going back again for supper today.

Visited this restaurant with my family.. The food was not satisfactory at all, it lacked flavor. I ordered a chicken curry, it just tasted like boiled chicken with tomato and carrots not the Mexican spices I expected. They didn't have a few of the items on the menu.
There was a guy I assumed was the owner/manager who greeted everyone but us, not sure why.. We were the only black family there by the way. Definitely never going there again.

Food is great, flavours are good. Im from Mexico and found the food tasty compared to the tex mex restaurants you get in Joburg. Please note that all "Mexican" restaurants in South Africa serve tex mex food as its extremely difficult to get all the right ingridientes here to cook a proper mexican dish.

We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Pule was our waiter who made sure all our requests were attended to. The food was great and the live entertainment was good. The owner, Dave Stanton made us feel welcome and ensured that we received the best service possible. We will surely visit you guys again..

Out of the hussle of the square this family run restaurant is a must visit... Stopped over for Brunch and had the best steak ever.. Waiters are very attentive and the live music amazing... Do yourself a favour and visit this gem.. Prices are also the best in town, not that it was necessary because we would pay top dollar for this standard of food and service...

Thank you for the warm and friendly welcome! Absolutely loved the steak and taco's. Steak was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent. Dave, thank you for a wonderful meal, live music was great and the atmosphere brilliant! Will definitely see you again soon.

Five Star Restaurant, highly recommended!
Dave is very hospitable...very relaxed atmosphere and love the live music. The service, food and beverage is of highest standerds.
Must be on your bucketlist if you visit Clarens.
Unforgettable experience with breathtaking views on the deck. They certainly go out of their way to make every moment memorable...

Amigos is a quality affordable restuarant u can take your whole family too. Adjust to it is entertainment for children all ages. Inside is cosy and warm. Outside is a view of nature's beauty.
We visit there quite often. The service is always friendly and attentive. Food is tasty and high quality. There is always an interesting off-menu special. Dave - the owner - creates a homely atmosphere which brings a relaxed enjoyable experience. Amigos is value for money and so much more. There is live entertainment and if not Dave intertains. Never a dull moment. We highly recommend Amigos for all. Young and old😁
