Mimmo and his family provide an out-of-this-world experience. Wonderful food, wine, service, and--above all--true southern Italian hospitality make this an experience to savor. This was my third visit, and each time has been more memorable.
This Osteria is a hidden treasure in the Neapolitan region! Mimmo and his family welcome guests with genuine smiles. In entering the locale, you are captured by the cuisine fragrances and sincere hospitality. My family and I enjoyed a night of eating the local dishes...prepared with love by Mimmo's mother and wife. The atmosphere resembles the traditional medieval time period.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mimmo and his family for being so attentive in making that evening a memorable one. This will be a night will we never forget! Grazie!More
Casertavecchia is perhaps one of the unknown turistic sites in Campania. It's worth the drive/ride to walk through the narrow medieval streets of the village. The views are spectacular and eating at La Mediovale was a great deal. Local food (antipasti, pasta, or meat) in...a lovely and cozy dining hall makes you enjoy the event. Prices are very reasonable and payments are due in cash.More
The restaurant is very small and cosy, with very gentle owners. The food is genuine and local, indeed what you expect. The only negative part for me is that you can pay only in cash and they do not accept any credit card. This is...why I have four stars, as I believe this should be acceptable in 2016.More
What could have been an ordinary group lunch was transformed into a banquet by the lavish hospitality of the owner. He made creating a fixed menu a delightful experience, and then he and his family treated our small group to a glorious feast. If you...are going to visit the palace in Caserta, it is worth detouring to picturesque Casertavecchia for lunch or dinner and some additional sight-seeing. Charming!More
We had an exceptionally warm welcome from the proprietor, Mimmo, who explained the menu and gave us advice. The food was delicious, warm and plentiful. Local ingredients were used and cooked to perfection by Rossa, Mimmo's mother. The pasta was homemade and the sauce on all...the dishes superb. The local wine which we drank was very pleasant and very good value. The cheese dish had a great selection of local produce. A very good place to eat.😜 We will return.More
