Kardoesie is always a reliable place to stop on the way back to Cape Town, with good food and a nice store with local goods. This time I had the curry offal, which was simply excellent.

We arrived at Kardoesie, with a rain storm and cold front (wet and cold). Inside we found a small restaurant with a fireplace in the middle (nice and warm). People huddled around the fireplace, but still enough heat for all the patrons. We enjoyed our...coffee and home made pies, with good service! I believe a must stop when passing through the Piekenierskloof pass to Citrusdal (it would appear that tour busses also use this as their must stop for tourist)More
We really enjoyed a fantastic lunch. The food was delicious. Your staff is very friendly & welcoming. Everything was nice & clean. We would recommend Kardoesie any time
Definitely recommended for a pit stop, we had lovely affordable food with great service. Quite an interesting little farm shop as well, where you can stretch your legs.
This was our first, yet most certainly not our last, stop @ Kardoesie...and what an absolute gem of a discovery! Have been travelling this route for many years now, but for some or other reason we've always been too "pressed for time" to stop and/or...browse here. In fact, were it not for our daughter's request to get some home made jam & marmalade from our most recent trip to the Cederberg district, we'd most likely again just mosey on by and not be bothered to drop in. All I'll say is "we struggled to leave after discovering the little gems on sale here" Do yourself a huge favour when next in the area and/or enroute somewhere past Kardoesie. Lets hope you'd come out faster, and less heavy than we managed to do :-) The Bedfords.More
A Little bit of everything. From snacks, meals, gifts, vegetables, meat, coffee, clothing or camping.
Bought a lot of goodies from Kardoesie. Was very impresssed - we will eat at the restaurant next time and possibly stay over
Ridiculously long wait for bland tasteless food. Salad served on a very hot plate.side order of chips was forgotten. Attention focused on mass production rather than quality. Go anywhere else.
So sorry you feel this way. Apologies to that. Hope you can see it in your future to visit us again and experience our true character. We do offer great food, a gorgeous view and good service.
Stopped here on our last day to have lunch. Bought coffee and gifts. Big selection for all ages and lovely products. Friendly staff that assisted proactively. Facilities are stunning and well maintained. Prices were very good.
Thank you , we hope to see you soon!
what a nice place to visit. on our way to cape town, nice rest, clean facilities, very friendly staff, good food at very reasonable pricing, will visit them each time i pass
Thank you, glad you enjoyed your visit. Please come around again.
Such a wonderful homely atmosphere, staff was friendly and the setting both inside and outside so relaxing. The food is well prepared and very well presented. Was too impressed and hungr, forgot to take a pic🤦♀️. The on site cafe has the most amazing variety...of teas to purchase, very difficult to choose just 1 box. All in all a must stop on N7 route.More
Thank you, hope to see you soon.
Kardoesie really met our expectations! We had a road trip to Springbok and stopped at Kardoesie for lunch .. we bought homemade pies and it was absolutely devine and delicious! While eating our lunch, we had the best view ever!! Kardoesie is truly the place...to be, especially when you have a road trip! Well done to the management!More
Thank you so much. please do visit again.
If you need fast lunch on the way to Citrusdal then it’s perfect place for you. Don’t forget to visit shop with healthy food!
We popped in for a quick snack on our way to the Cederberg mountains. We both ordered their homemade pies, lamb and pepper steak with a side salad. The view from our table was spectacular with a few paragliders riding the warm wind currents. Their...Rooibos milkshake was very tasteful and is highly recommended. Good food and smiling waitresses.More
We thank you for your visit. Hope to see you soon.
Stopped at Kardoesie(small container made of paper) Restaurant on our way back home from Springbok. Kardoesie has such an easy laidback feeling as you enter the restaurant. Very helpful staff and quite eager to give you the best that their restaurant can offer in products...as well as service. We had some of their pies. The lamb pie was made inhouse and tasted really good. Their game/venison pie was also good and they served a most delicious chocolate cake which was heavenly. I think that if you journey to the Northern Cape, you should stop to enjoy the offerings of Kardoesie.More
